Alvin Lam is a director at Massive Wisdom Group who advocates for lifelong learning. He started championing continuing education in 1995 as the president of his high school's computer science society. After graduating with an MBA and BASc in computer engineering, he co-trained Singapore's WorldSkills gold medalist team in 2009 and provided education to Fortune 500 leaders through his consulting company. Currently, he facilitates business programs at Murdoch University and fulfills his purpose of building a digital business platform company through Massive Wisdom Group. Alvin has over 30 professional certifications and is interested in the development of China, India, and Singapore.

Alvin’s advocacy for lifelong learning started in 1995 when he was the President of the
Computer Science Society at NYJC. Recognizing the need to develop knowledge outside the
classroom, he championed a pioneer team to foster a culture of continuing education and
training in programming literacy skills within the community.
After graduating from NTU, Alvin joined a few start-ups to sharpen his business mind-set but
the start-ups did not survive the global economic crisis. Picking himself up from the setbacks,
Alvin joined NYP as a Lecturer where he co-trained members of Team Singapore and
produced the WorldSkills International Gold Medallist who had competed with more than 800
Competitors to win the Albert Vidal Award in 2009 – this team achievement was widely
recognized and emphasized during the National Day Rally in the following year.
Believing that the best option to exercise the know-how of his business and technological
thought leadership, Alvin became the Principal Consultant of PDA, a consulting company of the
ALC Group of companies. During this time, Alvin provided continuing education to many
leaders from the Fortune 500 companies and received overwhelming commendations.
Today, Alvin works as the Director of Massive Wisdom Group where he is fulfilling his life
purpose of building a digital business platform company and transforming the strategic
capabilities of learners and business leaders using proprietary business architecture of
Leadership, Strategy, Organization, Talent and Influence Management. On an adjunct basis, he
facilitates the following units for Murdoch University at SMF Institute of Higher Learning:
Strategic Decision Making in its MBA programme; and International Management, Digital
Business & Information Security Management in its Bachelor Degree Programmes.
The way he goes about his work also matter – he is meticulous, persistent, with tremendous drive
and spirit, never quitting. Alvin’s lifelong competency development experiences in education,
business and technology is itself an exemplification of critical life skills at work. He is also
working on the continued success of the group beyond him through leadership succession with
emphasis on wisdom and compassion.
Alvin has more than 30 professional certifications in the areas of business, technology and life skills – a testament of
an active lifelong learner himself. He is particularly interested in the economic, historic and scientific development of
