The Community Helps Outreach Center aims to provide services and support to women, children, and families affected by incarceration. It will offer transportation assistance for visitation, support groups focused on sharing experiences and spiritual growth, and help with basic needs like school supplies, clothing, and housing. The Center also plans to stay connected to the incarcerated through correspondence and help them prepare for life after release through job training and assistance obtaining work tools.
1. Purpose of Our Community Outreach Helps Centers.
To provide many much needed services and support to those in our local
community, as well as the Women and Children that have been left behind
by an incarcerated husband or father.
Here is a brief description of some of the services and support that the
Community Helps Outreach Center will provide………....
Transportation Assistance:
Help with Transportation assistance and/or finances for the women and
children to be able to make regular visitation trips to the prisons so they are
able to spend some time with their husbands or fathers. The Center will also
help with securing bus passes to get to and from work.
Support Groups/Church Service:
The Center will have multiple Support Groups during the week, each with a
different focus or purpose. Some of the support groups will be structured for;
(1) the spouses of the incarcerated to share with others that are going through
and understand the same trials they are dealing with. (2) Encouragement
groups that will teach how to rely on God for guidance and direction in their
life. (3) Mid-week Church service teaching on the basics of the Bible and the
Biblical ways and importance of growing and having a personal relationship
with Christ. (4) Provide basic computer operations; help with basic job
training skills on how to interview for a job or how to start a small business.
The Center will also help locate jobs for those who have completed the training
classes.
Children:
The Center will help with school supplies, birthdays, Christmas presents and
current trend clothing for the less fortunate children in our local communities
and to those of the incarcerated. It will help provide or locate a mentor for
the boys and girls that have to deal with not having a Dad or Mom to take them
to the ball game or shopping mall.
Incarcerated:
The Center will also stay in contact with the incarcerated through Pen Pal
programs and Inmate Newsletters. We will be explaining to them the
importance of growing their life with Christ while they are away and explain to
them how we are helping their family do the same on the outside. The Center
will also help the incarcerated obtain work tools and clothing for different
types of trades once they are released and ready to go back to work.
2. Housing Assistance:
The Center will help locate affordable housing for the left behind family
members and for the incarcerated that do not have family left when they
return and need help finding a place that will rent to them without any
references or with a criminal record.
Furniture – Clothing:

women and children who have lost their personal belongings due to an
incarceration in their home.
