2. PROFILE OF MR. WILLIAM ZEGRI
Mr. William Zegri graduated in 1967 cum laude from the University of
Puerto Rico obtaining a bachelors degree in accounting. He started his
professional career in Peat , Marwick, Mitchell & Co., certified public accountants,
in the same year, working as a Management Consultant. He specialized in
manufacturing, government, hotels and health institutions.
In 1971 he was appointed Systems Coordinator of the Health Department
of the Municipality of San Juan ,where he was in charge of coordinating and
implementing all electronic data processing systems in conjunction with the
Corporación del Centro Médico de P. R.
From 1974 to 1978 he became the youngest porto rican Controller of a
major pharmaceutical manufacturing plant located in the western area of Puerto
Rico. He implemented a manufacturing cost accounting system that served as a
model for other manufacturing plants. During this period Mr. Zegri obtained his
master of administration degree from the Interamerican University,concentrating
in finance and accounting.
From 1978 to 1983 Mr. Zegri became the Treasurer and Controller of
Consolidated Cigars Corporation where he was given a plaque for the recognition
of his outstanding performance. Mr. Zegri implemented an electronic accounting
system during his tenure at Consolidated Cigars .
In 1983 he joined the Management Consulting Division of Executive Search
and Associates, as Manager. He was in charge of monitoring the implementation
of a new tax collection and assessment system at the Department of Treasury. At
this engagement he was the project manager and quality control monitor for
the implementation of the mechanized system.
In 1985, Mr. Zegri returned to the manufacturing industry as controller of a
major jewelry manufacturing corporation, where he implemented another cost
accounting system.
From 1987 to 1991 Mr. Zegrí became the Vice President Controller of
Palmas del Mar, Inc. This included fiscalizing the Palmas Water System. His
mayor accomplishment was restructuring the accounting department and
implementing a management information system for the accounting, hotel, real
estate and maintenance operations of the Mega Resort.
In 1991 Mr. Zegrí was recruited as General Manager of a major local
computer networks and PC distributor.
In 1994 Mr. Zegrí established his own Real Estate, Economics and
Business consulting firm, mainly preparing market feasibility studies in the
private and government sectors, strategic business planning and internal
controls diagnostic reviews for certified public accountants clients and
development of accounting systems, until present.
During his professional career Mr. Zegrí has taken specialized courses in
TQM, Project Management, Manufacturing, Government, Hotel and Hospital
3. accounting systems. He is proficient in Windows based operating systems and
project management scheduling.
Also, since 2000 Mr. Zegri became a licensed Real Estate Broker with specialized
courses in business properties cost evaluations.
