6. XX The Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) is an
aggregator of ideas for a more cohesive and better India, through the
confluence of what is cerebral and what must be implementable. At
IPPAI, we believe that change must be engineered through ideas that
are actionable, steeped in innovation and in conformity with regulations.
XX As the first Indian independent body that provides a neutral platform for
the discussion and examination of issues critical to the development
of the private power sector in India, IPPAI was set up in 1994,after the
Government of India opened power generation to private players and
invited developers to set up power projects in India.
XX IPPAI provides a cerebral platform as also an engaging interface
between players in the Energy Sector, Policymakers (Central and State
level), Electricity Boards, Financial Institutions, Ministries, Power
Developers, Indian & Multinational Companies, Equipment Suppliers,
EPC Contractors and Consultants.
XX Our primary goal is to bring together all the important players, including
governmentofficialsandmulti-lateralagenciestodiscussgenericissues
and resolve problems that may hold back the progress and development
of projects in the Indian energy sector and to examine ways in which
through the freshness of ideas as also a deeper understanding of issues,
we can hope for resolution and progress.
XX Ourinitiativesarefocusedonpolicy,strategic,financial,legal,regulatory
and technical issues in the power, oil & gas and allied sectors.
XX IPPAI offers its members the unique opportunity to access the latest
policy and regulatory trends through debate and discussion with
Government, regulatory and public & private sector entities, during the
unique workshops, seminars and other initiatives organized by us.
