4. Assam Movement
• Assam movement or Assam Agitation (1979-
85)
• A 6 years pan-Assam movement against illegal
immigrants from Bangladesh.
• Following riots Parliament passed Illegal
Migrants (Determination by Tribunal) Act,

• This led to the creation of Assam Accord.
