Estimation is a tool for planning and controlling the activity of any
project with respect to quality, finance, and the estimation of a project
is a forecast of its probable cost.
There is two aspects of it:-
1. Quantity Aspect

Generally Estimation divided into two categories:-
1. Approximate or Preliminary Estimation.
2. Detailed Estimation.
4. Purpose of Estimation
1. To find out the probable cost of the project.
2. To make a provisions for the budget before hand.
3. It gives a idea of the time requirement for the work.
4. To obtain technical sanctions(through loan and fund).
5. It helps in making tenders.
6. It helps in controlling the expenditure during the extension of the
work.
5. What is Partition ?
•Partition is a structure dividing a space into two or more parts.
•The partitioned area are divided according to their respective use.
•They may be equal or one area may be larger than the other.
6. Advantages of Partition
1. It provides privacy on its either side e.g. partition between two work
stations of an office.
2. Helps in maximum utilization of a given space by dividing it into
required units.
3. Sound transmission between spaces is reduced to a great extent.
1. Partitions are good substitutes of curtain wall as they can provide
controlled visibility if it is semi-glazed.
