 Working to develop a political and organisational strategy.
Over the seven years I was the secretary of the Welsh Board of Management, working alongside them
and the Director to develop our organisational strategy. I have worked closely with the last three
Directorsand the boardto developanactionplanfor overcomingthe roadblockstoConservative success
in 2015. I have pushed the cause of BEMwithin the Welsh Conservatives. I have personally forged and
developing links with the Chinese Conservative Community and Polish Community, which resulted in
both of groups being represent by Conservative Candidates in 2012 Local Government.
 Working with the Welsh Conservative Group in the National Assembly to prepare for the next
Assembly elections.
I have workedhardto developrelationshipswithin the Welsh Assembly Group. I have a driving force in
the success of the last ten years.
I have relishedthe opportunitytoworkwith the Conservative Assembly Group on the production of the
manifestoforthe nextAssemblyelections. Atthe last two local Government elections in Conwy, I have
writtenthe local manifesto and have been instrumental in developing policies with the group, testing
them and then presenting them to the electorate.
 Europe
I implemented campaign teams across both North Wales Area and Mid and West Wales. This was feed
back into the local Associations. All involved drew valuable lesion form this which were employed in
future campaigns.
I also have a detailed knowledge and understanding of how the European institutions work.
 Developingandmaintainingrelationshipswiththe media,the businesscommunity and pressure
groups within the working environment.
As a formerCentral Office PressOfficer, during the 1992 General Election, I understand the importance
of Developing and maintaining these relationships. Over the last teb years I have worked tirelessly to
developrelationshipswithbusinesssuchasAirbus, IforWilliamsTrailers and other local Businesses. My
active involvement in planning tours and visits has allowed me to build up relationship with charities,
pressure groups and social enterprises.
I have a workingrelationshipwiththe mediainbothmycurrentareas. However,thisextendsbeyondmy
current profession. Through my voluntary work with the Air Training Corps, church and local town and
communitycouncils, Ihave developedrelationshipswithothersectionsof the local mediaoutside of the
political sphere.

2. Throughmy previousemploymentinEducation andgraphicproduction,Ihave acquiredinterchangeable
skillsintelevisionproductionandgraphicdesign,whichmeans I can communicate in written, visual and
electronicforms.Last year I was pleased to direct and produce a short film for my local church part of a
local historyproject, which is still in use by Conwy County Council museum service. My graphic design
skillsare widelyrecognised but I would also welcome the opportunity to use my television production
skills to ensure that messages are communicated across targeted groups
 Responsible for aspects of National Campaigns.
Over the past ten year I have been at the centre of National Welsh Campaigns, working closely with
colleagues to achieve success.
Overthose same eightyearsI have hadto deliver these campaignsonthe ground. It has been my job to
set and implement budgets and develop and deliver campaign plans, push, cajole, inspire and on
occasion by example gothe extramile,workthe longhours,alongside volunteers so they can see a way
inwhichto deliverthem. This has reinforced my belief that the best way to achieve is to set a positive
role model.Iam proudthat inmy careerwithinthe Party(volunteer,AreaOfficer,PressOfficer,Agentin
Scarboroughand SouthNorfolk) Ihave neveraskedof others,somethingIamnot preparedtodo myself.
Havingdeliveredthese campaigns on the ground I am now ready to implement my own ideas using my
stronginterpersonal skills, developed both in my professional career and my voluntary life to lead and
inspire other to achieve these aims.
 Working with the Secretary of State for Wales and Welsh Conservative MPs to develop
campaigns.
Overthe last tenyearsI have workedcloselywiththe Secretary of State for Wales on a large number of
projectsincludingvisits,PartyConferences and Receptions. I also work closely with all of my members
of Parliament, giving help and advice when required, briefing them on campaigns and issues running
with the Party.
 Representing the Party in internal and external forms and working with key stakeholders to
deliver success.
I have represented the party at a number of key forums including the Electoral Commissions Welsh
Political Parties Panel and at meetings and briefing meetings with the Welsh Association of Electoral
Administrators. Inadditiontothisa have carriedout trainingsessionsrightacrossthe Country and to all
levelsof stakeholdersinthe WelshConservative Party. I have reputation as trainer, built up over many
years, but always adapting to keep my training relevant and fresh.
In the past I have addressed Conservative Party Conferences, spoken at large public events and on
occasionsdeliveredkeynote speechestoEducational conferencesinthe RussianFederation. Because of
these experiences I have developed into a high effective communicator.
In the lasteightyearsI have beencommittedtorepresenting the Party at every opportunity. I regularly
attend the National Eisteddfod where I do my best to put my limited Welsh to good use and the Royal
WelshShowwhere Iputmy experience gainedatan Agentinrural North Yorkshire and South Norfolk to
good use when talking to farming and environmental groups

3.  A track record of successinincreasingmembership,fundraisingandworkingwiththe media and
have knowledge of modern campaign techniques and technology.
I have a proven record of success in increasing membership. As agent In Scarborough I increased the
membership by over 150 and was able to sustain by own position for four years between the 1997 and
2001 general elections. This was achieved by increasing the membership and regular and sustainable
fundraising activity.
In SouthNorfolkIagainincreasedthe membershipof the party and organised major fundraising events
which raised large sums for the Association. This allowed the Association to support activity in the
neighbouringmarginal seatof NorwichSouth. ThisrelationshipwasmyideaandI believeitallowedthat
seat to develop both as campaigning force and as an Association.
I am fullytrained on Merlin and Vote Source and have used Mosaic to deliver success. Most notably in
Aberconwywere we targetedkeymosaicgroupsatboth the ParliamentaryandAssemblyelections. This
required not only a clear understanding of Merlin, but the use of all of my training and interpersonal
skill, to re-educate both Candidates and campaign teams in this highly targeted and focused
campaigning.
 A self-motivatedpolitical campaignercapable of settingclearprioritieswhoisresults-driven; has
a track record of leading and motivating volunteers; is able to work under pressure and has a
flexible approach to working hours.
I am a self-motivated political campaigner. My track record in Wales shows that I am results driven. I
lead and motivate people not just in my working life, but in my voluntary and social life as well. I am
knownforworkinglonghoursand beingflexible in my approach. Thought-out my time in Wales I have
worked remotely form CCHQ in Cardiff, driving long distances to my the public face of campaigning in
our Constituency’s.

I am an effectiveandmotivational trainer.Ienjoytrainingothersandamcapable fordevelopingcomplex
and detailed training packages on a wide range of activities including Election Law, building delivery
network and recruiting as retaining volunteers.
