in Indonesia

3. Social Entrepreneurship
The current trends of entrepreneurship in Indonesia is Social Entrepreneurship, or also called Sosiopreneur in
Indonesia. This type of entrepreneurship is where the owner creates a business, however, the profits are not only
gained by the owners and shareholders, but also to the society around them (Merina, 2017).
As Indonesia has many economic and labor problems, it is becoming a trend in Indonesia that it causes people
to create a social enterprise. Social enterprises could help the society by helping solve unemployment cases, and
to help the people below the poverty line by holding up a charity, or events that would help spread the
awareness and also convince people to donate for the people in need (Merina, 2017).
One example of social enterprise in Indonesia is DBS bank. DBS bank created a program called DBS
foundation that was established in Indonesia. This program has a slogan of “Indonesia For Good” which has an
objective to help the younger generation to be involved in social businesses and help people to have a happy life
even though they are on the edge of the poverty line (tirto.id, 2018).

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The entrepreneurship trends that are currently happening now is Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is a part of
computer science that aims to create intelligent machines such as robots. The creation of this would need a
computer with speech recognition, learning, planning, knowledge, reasoning, perception, problem solving, and
the ability to move objects to input it to the artificial intelligence (Techopedia, n.d.).
The artificial intelligence is said to be replacing the jobs of customer service and sales as it would be benefitial
for businesses to set up a robot to do the work, one reason being that they could record and monitor calls
received and immediately send them to officials. Another reason is that it would save costs for the business
(Uzialko, 2018).
One example of companies who are developing Artificial Intelligence products is Amazon. So far, they have
created a intelligent voice server called Alexa, and Lex, a business version of Alexa, and Polly, who creates a
text to speech into an image recognition service (Patrizio, 2018).
