- 12. MY UNEXPECTED BEST FRIEND BY ANNGELINA MANDIGMA Lisa is walking around Star City. When she was enjoying the view, she heard a crying voice. She follow the voice to see where it comes from. Shockingly, she saw a girl hiding under the slide. Lisa: What are you doing ? Why are you crying? ?: I’m just hiding here, I can’t see clearly because I can’t find my glasses. My mom will be angry. Lisa: Oh! Is these your glasses? ?: Where are my glasses? Lisa: I found it. It is under the Carousel. ?: Thank you so much! What is your name? Lisa: My name is Lisa. How about yours? Jennie: My name is Jennie. Since you helped me, I’m going to treat you a bread. Let’s go to that store.. (They both go to the canteen.) Jennie: Which one do you want? Lisa: Wow. I want the chocolate flavor. Thank you so much Jennie. Jennie: Okay, let’s eat over there. (They eat inside the canteen.) Jennie: Lisa, thank you for helping me. I really appreciated your help. May I know, how old are you? Lisa: I am 10 years old. How about you? Jennie: Oh! We’re the same age. Lisa: Really? Omg, we can be best friends. Jennie: For real. Can I be your best friend? I’ am about to cry because I don’t have any friends. Lisa: From now on. I am your best friend; I will protect you no matter what. Again Jennie, who is your best friend? Jennie: You! Lisa is my best friend! Lisa: Since you are my best friend now. May I know where are you from? When is your birthday? Jennie: I live at Jisoo St. Black pink Village. And my birthday is on January 16. How about yours? Lisa: I also live at Black pink Village but in Rose St. And my birthday is on March 27. Jennie: Omg. Can I visit you? Lisa: Yes! Of course. And I think we need to go to our class now. What time is it? Jennie: It’s already 10:00 am. Lisa: Oh no! It’s already time, and I still cannot find any pencils here. I’m on a field trip and our tour guide gave us a task “Bring Me”. Jennie: I have a lot of pencils in my pencil case. You can borrow some. Lisa: How many pencils are there? Jennie: I have 11 pencils in my pencil case. Lisa: I just need 5. I will borrow it if it is okay. Thank you so much Jennie. Jennie: You can have the pencils. Thank you so much also. - Good morning, everyone! Today we will imagine that we are in a fieldtrip. I will be your tour guide and you will be the tourists. I hope you will learn, enjoy, and gain knowledge from our Educational Trip. For our safety, here are some rules to follow: Wear your face mask. Raise your hand if you want to say something. Enjoy the trip but be sensitive with your noise. Checking of Attendance Are there any tourist who’s not able to join us today?
- Here are the places that we are about to visit
- Let’s go first to our first destination, the place called “Candy City” In this place, the owner wants YOU to play a game first and I will be the facilitator. I have a box full of questions. I will give it to you and as the music “We are Adventurers” plays YOU will pass it to another tourist. When the music stops, the tourist holding the box will pick one question and answer it.
- Now let us analyze the game that we played. Let us have first a stopover. What have you noticed in the game that we played at our first destination? What did we do to gather information from the other tourists?
- Now let’s go to our main destination. This place is what we call “The Wall of Thoughts”. In this area, you have to accomplish different missions for you to reach the next destination. I will divide you into 6 groups. Each group will accomplish the tasks in the wall that is assigned to the group. Let’s go first to the Main Wall. The Main Wall will be the only clue in order for you to finish the task in each wall. Now, I need representative to read your answers in each question. Since you finished the task. You will be given an exit ticket which is the definition of What. Since there is still an extra wall, use your exit ticket to unlock the Extra Wall of How Congratulations Tourists, we finished all the tasks in “The Wall of Thoughts”.
- For our next destination, this will be an exciting place. This place is called “Cloud City” It will be full of fun because there will be a game in this place. I personally prepared this game. Now, I prepareD a stick for YOU. The sticks have color blue or red at the end. The tourists who get the blue color will be exempted and have time to take some rest and the tourist who get the red color will deal with the consequences. I provideD a box full of sentences as the consequences. The tourist who have the red stick will complete the sentence by providing the correct interrogative pronoun.
- GENERALIZATION Can you share with us the things that you have learned in this Educational Trip? VALUING Every day we tend to ask questions. A question about different situations. Sometimes we doubt ourselves in answering the question, so we tend to ask other people. What is the importance of asking the right questions in different life situations?
- Now, we are on the last part of our trip. In this place we are about to witness if we develop or improve something, especially to witness if we learned something from this trip. This place is called “The Final Door”. The tour guide prepared an activity, and the tourists will do it individually and silently. Here are the activities. . Answer the worksheet THAT I provided . Then, Read and analyze the story “My Unexpected Best friend” written by Ms. Anngelina Mandigma. After that we will answer the questions that you created from the worksheet that you answered.
- Since the trip is done. I will now send YOU on YOUR way home. And YOU will have this take-home souvenir.
