2. Analyze the learner
General: 8th grade, 20 students (10 boys,10 girls), 15 Caucasian, 3 African-
American, and 2 Latino. 2 students identify with ADHD
Learning Competencies: Students should have a basic understanding of
Edgar Allan Poe.
Learning styles: Some students are auditory learners while others are visual.
(They still understand either way).
3. Objective
Students will analyze and explain who Edgar Allan Poe is by his life
and his works, through the use of drawings, videos, readings, audios,
and presentations by the end of the week with 100% accuracy.
4. Day by Day
1- Class Discussion of “Who is Edgar Allan Poe?” My presentation of Edgar
Allan Poe and some his works
2- Listen to an audio of The Masque of the Red Death and have students
draw and write response.
3- Watch the Tell-Tale Heart video have students write down responses.
4- Read the Tell-Tale Heart and have students reenact short story in small
groups.
5- Watch scenes of The Raven, and have students come up with their own
interpretation of Edgar Allan Poe.
5. Use of Technology
Smartboard and computer for the Prezi presentation and videos, making sure all
is working and prepared
Make sure to have all arts and crafts for the posters that students will produce
Making the classroom into a “theatre” through decorations and the smartboard
projector
View the video scenes and make sure all parts are exactly where they need to be
