2. THE BEGINNING
Ozarks Technical Community College was founded in 1990. It
offered students one-year certifications and two-year
associate degrees: in either arts or applied science.
3. GROWTH
Originally named Graff Vocational School, OTC began with a
focus on technical education, such as welding. Admissions
grew on average at a rate of 11.4% from 1991 and 2014 which
helped the college expand to multiple locations in and around
Springfield.
4. NEW LOCATIONS
In addition to the main campus in Springfield, OTC has satellite campuses
in:
• Table Rock
• Richwood Valley
• Lebanon
• Republic
• Waynesville
5. ACCREDITATION
Since 1996, OTC has been accredited by the Commission on Institutions
of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and
Schools. In the Spring of 2007, OTC received approval from the Higher
Learning Commission to deliver all its degree programs online.
6. NOTABLE ALUMNI
In 2002, Elijah Haahr graduated from OTC with honors.
After attending University and Law school, he served
as a house representative of Missouri from 2013 to
2021.
7. THE FUTURE
In 2020, OTC began construction of a new
building: the Robert W. Plaster Center for
Advanced Manufacturing. It will provide training
in the following disciplines when it opens in
August of 2022:

Networking
Cybersecurity
Automation and Robotics
