Moderator
• The moderator also called review leader leads the review process
• Moderator co-ordinates with the author and checks the entry criteria for the
review
• Moderator follow-up on the rework, in order to control the quality of Product
• Moderator leads the discussion during review
• Manages review i.e. scheduling meeting, distributing documents etc
Author
• Author is writer of the document under review
• Goal is to gain maximum from review and improve quality of document

3. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN REVIEWS
Scribe or Recorder
• During review meeting scribe logs every defects and feedbacks
• Usually author plays role of Scribe, but its advantage to have another
person to Scribe so that author can concentrate on review
Reviewers
• Also called as checkers or inspectors
• They find defects, mostly prior to the meeting
• Reviewers should be technical, sometimes when review documents
are few than more skilled reviewers are required

Manager
• Manager decides execution of reviews
• Sometimes Manager also plays role of reviewers
• Of course a manager can also be involved in the, playing the role of
a reviewer if this would be helpful
