ROLE OF IMPORT AND EXPORT

2. Summary:
We will find the role of import and export in Panama. How have the
numbers been in recent years? What can be imported and exported and
what not?We will learn it here.
3. Introduction:
The import and export operations in our country are covered by the Fiscal
Code in itsThird Book, from Article 431 to Article 608.The articles that make
up these regulations indicate the necessary requirements to carry out these
activities, the documents that need to be submitted in customs, fees or
taxes to be paid to theTreasury, the type of products involved, in addition to
a series of details that regulate all activity in general.
In the content of this research we will find data related to both activities,
including projects that are being carried out to reinforce import and re-
export activities through an area and how important it has been in Panama.
4. Theoretical framework:
When we talk about import, we mean the commercial
operation that consists of legally importing or introducing
to the national territory all types of merchandise that is
allowed, coming from abroad or free zones or ports
established in the Republic of Panama. There are ports,
airports and docks authorized to receive merchandise that
comes from abroad, such as: Puerto de Cristóbal, Balboa,
Pedregal, Almirante,Vacamonte, De Obaldía, Fiscal Dock
of Panama and others.
This will be possible as long as all those essential
requirements are met, at the customs level, with the
presentation of the documents that are required and the
payment of taxes corresponding to the merchandise that is
to be processed.
5. What is export?
The export consists in legally sending or sending products from the Republic
of Panama to foreign countries, allowing local companies to grow and
consolidate. This growth allows these companies to enter other markets and
offer levels of trade that would allow us to make profits that could not be
achieved otherwise.
6. Conclusion:
Panamanian exports have been trying to overcome the flight for years, but
they barely reach 700 million dollars a year, an "insufficient" figure for a
country with the socioeconomic characteristics of Panama.
"Panama now exports 40% less than it exported in 2008, which was our
record year in the export of goods, since we broke the 1,000 million dollar
flag.We should at least recover that figure."
