In north-eastern Wisconsin, including much of the
Door Peninsula, and adjacent parts of the Upper

It burned approximately 1,200,000 acres (490,000 ha)
Estimated deaths of around 1,500 people, and

In two days, the blaze spread across 1,520 acres and

21. The cause of the fire has not been determined. But according to
PG&E, a jumper on a tower, a metal connector between an
incoming and outgoing electrical line, broke seven minutes
before the fire was reported.

Allison Cardona, a deputy director of operations for
Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control, said about
700 animals — including 550 horses, nine cows and at
least one tortoise — are now in her agency’s care.
