CCMH525 Wk 6 - Needs AssessmentPaper
A needs assessment is a systematic appraisal of the needs of a particular population
within a community.
Imagine you have been tasked with planning a needs assessment in your community. To
complete this, you will need to do the following:
 Read existing literature on a population of interest to you.
 Interview at least one key informant.
 Develop a plan for data collection and analysis.
 Summarize your findings.
Write a 1,800- to 2,200-word paper to summarize your needs assessment. Include the
following:
 Determine the target population. Based on your knowledge of your community,
specify the target population for your needs assessment. The target population could be
clients such as trauma survivors, preschool children with autism-spectrum disorders,
adults in a substance-abuse treatment program, or homeless individuals. It might also be
client advocates, parents, administrators, or human services professionals. Use current
published literature and your knowledge of your community to identify a population with a
perceived need or needs.
 Begin your paper with a summary of the perceived need or needs.
 Include existing data from published studies in this section of your report. Read a
number of articles on the topic so you are well versed in the needs of a particular
population.
 Describe the current status of the population in your community.
 For example, if you are interested in addressing the needs of homeless people in
your community, describe the services and resources currently available and accessible
to this population. Many needs may already be met by existing programs and services.
Describe these needs.
 Interview at least one key informant or specialist in the field. Try to get as much
information as you can on gaps that exist between available and needed services and
resources. Ask probing questions.
 For example, what is the single most pressing need that homeless individuals
have in this community? What are other important needs?
 How are these needs currently being addressed? If a particular need is not being
addressed, why is it not being addressed? What resources are currently available for
addressing these needs? Who would deliver the needed services? Summarize the results
of your interview in this section of your report.
 Devise one additional strategy for collecting information about the needs of the
target population.
 For example, you may decide to administer a questionnaire or organize a focus
group. Discuss your strategy in detail. If there is already a validated questionnaire that is
relevant to the group you are assessing, describe it. If not, describe the type of instrument
that would be useful in assessing the needs of the target population. For additional
information on needs assessment strategies, conduct additional Internet research.
 Outline a general plan for data analysis.
 Once you have collected data, either qualitative or quantitative, you need to
analyze and interpret it. Describe how you would do this.
 The next step in a needs assessment is to analyze the data and use the results to
plan appropriate interventions. Because you are only planning and not conducting a
needs assessment, you will not have actual data to analyze and use. However, you may
still anticipate the needs of a given population and discuss strategies for addressing them.
 For example, if information gleaned from research articles and if key informants
suggest that the homeless population in your community needs education on existing
mental health services, you may develop a plan for helping the homeless population learn
more about community mental health services currently available to them. In other words,
you can devise a strategy for increasing awareness of mental health services. At this point,
your plan will be general and tentative, because you have not actually analyzed data. In
this section of your paper, offer at least one strategy for addressing a likely need.
 Summarize your findings in a concluding paragraph.
Cite a minimum of five scholarly references.
Format your paper according to appropriate course-level APA guidelines.
Submit your assignment.

CCMH525 Wk 7 Team - Program EvaluationPaperand
Presentation
Develop a program evaluation study based on the following information about
Stoneybrook Middle School:
 Stoneybrook Middle School is currently implementing a new peer tutoring
program.
 The program pays eligible eighth-grade students $5 per hour to tutor sixth-grade
students who are struggling in mathematics.
 Student tutors must have a B+ average or better in math courses and no history of
conduct problems in school.
 Parental permission for tutors and students is required.
 Thus far, 60 eighth-grade tutors have been employed to tutor 75 sixth-grade
students. The tutors meet with their sixth-grade pupils at least one hour per day. They
work with the sixth graders on understanding math concepts and building math skills.
 The tutors have been trained to build confidence, provide positive reinforcement,
and allow their pupils plenty of time to think. The tutors act as role models socially and
academically. Tutors also model good study habits such as keeping notebooks organized,
completing homework on time, and preparing effectively for quizzes and tests.
 The program has been running for 3 months, and it is time for the first evaluation.
Continued funding of the peer tutoring program is contingent upon demonstration of its
effectiveness.
Design an outcome study focusing on the effectiveness of Stoneybrook Middle School's
peer tutoring program. In your program evaluation design, you must include the following
information either on the slides or in your speaker notes:
 Statement of the problem: Introduce the reader to the problem to be studied.
Provide sufficient background information so that the reader has a grasp of the situation.
 Summary of literature: Provide the reader with an overview of salient literature
including general information and the specific issues under consideration.
 Purpose of the study: Clearly state the purpose of the study. Identify why the study
is needed.
 Hypotheses research questions: List these as simple statements. Make sure they
are measurable.
 Definition of terms: Operationally define terms the average reader may not know
or that have a specific meaning in your study.
 Research methods and procedures.
 Population: Describe the population sample under study.
 Procedure: Discuss how the study will be carried out.
 Instruments: Describe the specific measurements used to test each hypothesis
research question.
 Data analysis: Describe the statistical tests or procedures that would be most
appropriate to analyze the data produced from your instruments.
 Conclusion: Summarize the problem and the proposed evaluation strategy.
Discuss the advantages of the strategy that you have developed. Discuss any known
limitations of your program evaluation plan.
Create an 18-20 slide (excluding title and reference pages) Microsoft® PowerPoint®
presentation demonstrating your program evaluation and design. Adequate speaker
notes are required. At least 5 scholarly sources are required.
Prepare your Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation according to APA guideline. This

CCMH525 Wk 8 - Research Proposa
This signature assignment is designed to align with specific program student learning
outcome(s) in your program. Program Student Learning Outcomes are broad statements
that describe what students should know and be able to do upon completion of their
degree. The signature assignments may be graded with an automated rubric that allows
the university to collect data that can be aggregated across a location or college/school
and used for program improvements.
Develop an original research study proposal.
Write a 3,500- to 4,200-word paper that describes your research study proposal.
Include at least 10 scholarly references in your paper.
Include detailed information on all the following topics:
 Statement of the problem: Introduce the reader to the problem to be studied.
Provide sufficient background information so the reader has a grasp of the situation.
 Review of literature: Provide the reader with a review of salient literature,
beginning with general information and narrowing the focus to the specific issues under
consideration in the study.
 Purpose of the study: Identify why the study you are proposing is needed.
 Hypotheses research questions: List these as simple statements. Make sure they
are measurable.
 Definition of terms: Operationally define terms the average reader may not know
or that have a specific meaning in your study.
 Assumptions: Identify issues you assume to be true for your study to be valid.
 Research methods and procedures:
 Population: Describe the population being studied.
 Procedure: Discuss how the study will be carried out.
 Instruments: Describe the specific measurements used to test each hypothesis
(research question).
 Data analysis: Describe the procedures you intend to use to analyze the data
produced from your instruments, as well as how these would answer the hypotheses
(research questions).
 Results: Because you are only proposing and not conducting a research study,
you will not have results; however, you can discuss potential outcomes of your study in
the discussion section.
 Discussion: Review your hypotheses, and discuss potential outcomes. For
example, if the results allow you to reject the null hypothesis, what are the implications? If
the results compel you to accept the null hypothesis, what does that mean? Discuss the
implications of your proposed study to the field, the limitations of your study, and future
research ideas and directions.
 Conclusion: Provide a brief summary of your proposal.
 References: Include at least 10 scholarly sources in addition to any online
or other sources.
Format your paper according to appropriate course-level APA guidelines.
Headings and subheadings are required. Review guidelines and tutorials in the
Center for Writing Excellence.
Submit your assignment.

  • 4. A needs assessment is a systematic appraisal of the needs of a particular population within a community. Imagine you have been tasked with planning a needs assessment in your community. To complete this, you will need to do the following:  Read existing literature on a population of interest to you.  Interview at least one key informant.  Develop a plan for data collection and analysis.  Summarize your findings. Write a 1,800- to 2,200-word paper to summarize your needs assessment. Include the following:  Determine the target population. Based on your knowledge of your community, specify the target population for your needs assessment. The target population could be clients such as trauma survivors, preschool children with autism-spectrum disorders, adults in a substance-abuse treatment program, or homeless individuals. It might also be client advocates, parents, administrators, or human services professionals. Use current published literature and your knowledge of your community to identify a population with a perceived need or needs.  Begin your paper with a summary of the perceived need or needs.  Include existing data from published studies in this section of your report. Read a number of articles on the topic so you are well versed in the needs of a particular population.  Describe the current status of the population in your community.  For example, if you are interested in addressing the needs of homeless people in your community, describe the services and resources currently available and accessible to this population. Many needs may already be met by existing programs and services. Describe these needs.  Interview at least one key informant or specialist in the field. Try to get as much information as you can on gaps that exist between available and needed services and resources. Ask probing questions.  For example, what is the single most pressing need that homeless individuals have in this community? What are other important needs?  How are these needs currently being addressed? If a particular need is not being addressed, why is it not being addressed? What resources are currently available for addressing these needs? Who would deliver the needed services? Summarize the results of your interview in this section of your report.  Devise one additional strategy for collecting information about the needs of the target population.  For example, you may decide to administer a questionnaire or organize a focus group. Discuss your strategy in detail. If there is already a validated questionnaire that is relevant to the group you are assessing, describe it. If not, describe the type of instrument that would be useful in assessing the needs of the target population. For additional information on needs assessment strategies, conduct additional Internet research.
  • 5.  Outline a general plan for data analysis.  Once you have collected data, either qualitative or quantitative, you need to analyze and interpret it. Describe how you would do this.  The next step in a needs assessment is to analyze the data and use the results to plan appropriate interventions. Because you are only planning and not conducting a needs assessment, you will not have actual data to analyze and use. However, you may still anticipate the needs of a given population and discuss strategies for addressing them.  For example, if information gleaned from research articles and if key informants suggest that the homeless population in your community needs education on existing mental health services, you may develop a plan for helping the homeless population learn more about community mental health services currently available to them. In other words, you can devise a strategy for increasing awareness of mental health services. At this point, your plan will be general and tentative, because you have not actually analyzed data. In this section of your paper, offer at least one strategy for addressing a likely need.  Summarize your findings in a concluding paragraph. Cite a minimum of five scholarly references. Format your paper according to appropriate course-level APA guidelines. Submit your assignment. For More Classes Please Visit http://www.uopstudy.com/ CCMH525 Wk 7 Team - Program EvaluationPaperand Presentation Develop a program evaluation study based on the following information about Stoneybrook Middle School:  Stoneybrook Middle School is currently implementing a new peer tutoring program.  The program pays eligible eighth-grade students $5 per hour to tutor sixth-grade students who are struggling in mathematics.  Student tutors must have a B+ average or better in math courses and no history of conduct problems in school.  Parental permission for tutors and students is required.  Thus far, 60 eighth-grade tutors have been employed to tutor 75 sixth-grade students. The tutors meet with their sixth-grade pupils at least one hour per day. They work with the sixth graders on understanding math concepts and building math skills.
  • 6.  The tutors have been trained to build confidence, provide positive reinforcement, and allow their pupils plenty of time to think. The tutors act as role models socially and academically. Tutors also model good study habits such as keeping notebooks organized, completing homework on time, and preparing effectively for quizzes and tests.  The program has been running for 3 months, and it is time for the first evaluation. Continued funding of the peer tutoring program is contingent upon demonstration of its effectiveness. Design an outcome study focusing on the effectiveness of Stoneybrook Middle School's peer tutoring program. In your program evaluation design, you must include the following information either on the slides or in your speaker notes:  Statement of the problem: Introduce the reader to the problem to be studied. Provide sufficient background information so that the reader has a grasp of the situation.  Summary of literature: Provide the reader with an overview of salient literature including general information and the specific issues under consideration.  Purpose of the study: Clearly state the purpose of the study. Identify why the study is needed.  Hypotheses research questions: List these as simple statements. Make sure they are measurable.  Definition of terms: Operationally define terms the average reader may not know or that have a specific meaning in your study.  Research methods and procedures.  Population: Describe the population sample under study.  Procedure: Discuss how the study will be carried out.  Instruments: Describe the specific measurements used to test each hypothesis research question.  Data analysis: Describe the statistical tests or procedures that would be most appropriate to analyze the data produced from your instruments.  Conclusion: Summarize the problem and the proposed evaluation strategy. Discuss the advantages of the strategy that you have developed. Discuss any known limitations of your program evaluation plan. Create an 18-20 slide (excluding title and reference pages) Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation demonstrating your program evaluation and design. Adequate speaker notes are required. At least 5 scholarly sources are required. Prepare your Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation according to APA guideline. • 7. CCMH525 Wk 8 - Research Proposa This signature assignment is designed to align with specific program student learning outcome(s) in your program. Program Student Learning Outcomes are broad statements that describe what students should know and be able to do upon completion of their degree. The signature assignments may be graded with an automated rubric that allows the university to collect data that can be aggregated across a location or college/school and used for program improvements. Develop an original research study proposal. Write a 3,500- to 4,200-word paper that describes your research study proposal. Include at least 10 scholarly references in your paper. Include detailed information on all the following topics:  Statement of the problem: Introduce the reader to the problem to be studied. Provide sufficient background information so the reader has a grasp of the situation.  Review of literature: Provide the reader with a review of salient literature, beginning with general information and narrowing the focus to the specific issues under consideration in the study.  Purpose of the study: Identify why the study you are proposing is needed.  Hypotheses research questions: List these as simple statements. Make sure they are measurable.  Definition of terms: Operationally define terms the average reader may not know or that have a specific meaning in your study.  Assumptions: Identify issues you assume to be true for your study to be valid.  Research methods and procedures:  Population: Describe the population being studied.  Procedure: Discuss how the study will be carried out.  Instruments: Describe the specific measurements used to test each hypothesis (research question).  Data analysis: Describe the procedures you intend to use to analyze the data produced from your instruments, as well as how these would answer the hypotheses (research questions).  Results: Because you are only proposing and not conducting a research study, you will not have results; however, you can discuss potential outcomes of your study in the discussion section.  Discussion: Review your hypotheses, and discuss potential outcomes. For example, if the results allow you to reject the null hypothesis, what are the implications? If the results compel you to accept the null hypothesis, what does that mean? Discuss the implications of your proposed study to the field, the limitations of your study, and future research ideas and directions.
  • 8.  Conclusion: Provide a brief summary of your proposal.  References: Include at least 10 scholarly sources in addition to any online or other sources. Format your paper according to appropriate course-level APA guidelines. Headings and subheadings are required. Review guidelines and tutorials in the Center for Writing Excellence. Submit your assignment. Resources: Submit your assignment.
