1. Development of the Occupational Profiles within the
Organizational Framework:
Freight Forwarding & Customs Agent – Done☺
Supply Chain Practitioner in International Logistics – Done☺
Customs Compliance Manager – In Progress☺
3. 2. Development of the Qualification Framework which
comprises of the following structure:
Knowledge Module
Practical Module
Work Experience Module
3. SAAFF have appointed a Community of Expert Practitioners
(subject matter experts) to inform the content of both the
qualifications and learning material;
4. 4. Qualifications are registered by the Quality Council for Trades
& Occupations (QCTO) and Gazetted;
5. TETA funds and facilitates the development of learning
material associated to these qualifications;
6. SAAFF & TETA are in discussions to partner as Assessment
Quality Partners (AQP’s); TETA facilitates and SAAFF informs
the standards for qualifications & final external
assessments.
5. Current work in progress is the development of the
Occupational Profile of the Customs Compliance Manager;
The new Customs Legislation referred to by the SARS
Commissioner has informed the development of this
occupation and associated qualification;
TETA has to ensure thorough consultation on the above;
Customs Experts are required to give their input
please!
6. The SARS Commissioner’s call to galvanise membership of
SMME’s within the industry into SAAFF will have the effect of co
enrichment by using the funded skills training opportunities
provided by SAAFF to its members in collaboration with TETA;
7. As part of the SAAFF membership base, the TETA’s Small
Business Development Strategy & Associated funding
becomes available to them, decreasing cost of training
towards compliance, and increase in branded institutional
respectability;
