2. Transport 2
Transporter 2 begins with a specialist who becomes a
temporary chauffeur for a wealthy family. The family
have a son who is later on drugged by impostors at a
medical centre. The “chauffeur” then uses his insight
skills to save the boy who was injected with a deadly
virus that will in due course kill anyone who the boy
breathes on.
3. Has the institution created a text with a
conventional (stereotypical) narrative
structure?
• Yes there is a clear conventional linear
narrative structure which are:
• Beginning – equilibrium = living a normal life.
• Middle – disequilibrium = the little boy gets
kidnapped.
• End - new equilibrium = the man rescues the
little boy.
4. Explain how the film is narrative implicit or
explicit
Scenes
Explanation of Implicit or Explicit?
Scene 1
This scene is explicit because as soon as the female approaches,
straight away we know she is trouble as her body language shows
and also the mans reaction because if she was telling the truth he
would get out the car and help her. Her clothes also show she tries
to look innocent.
Scene 2
This scene is implicit because the audience did not expect the
main character to get along with children however at the same
time he seems very serious. In this scene it is also not clear if he
is his son or not.
Scene 3
This scene is explicit because it is shown very clear for the audience
that this character is a villain by her face expression and that she is
planning something evil so that the audience can get ready to for
something to happen any minute as tension rises.
Scene 4
In this scene you can clearly see that it is explicit because by just
looking at the character you can tell that he is the ‘bad guy’ and
that he is planning. Also it is clear that the object he is holding
will be all about the film and the main subject.

guys throughout inline with chasing: enhances the crime
genre

9. Impact Of Narrative Structure On The
Audience.
• The relationships between the text and the audience is how the
audience watch and engage to the text. Through the use of
iconology and characters, audience should feel like they relate to
what is being shown to them.
• The impact the narrative structure on the audience is for them to
have a succinct expectation or to be familiar with the themes of the
film, so they are pleased with what they are watching.
• However, a non linear narrative structure will heighten the
audiences level of interest and leave them unknown to what to
expect.
• As every text has its own implied audience, the text relates to one
group of viewers and excludes a particular gender or race etc.
Therefore, the types of narratives are important for institutions to
consider when targeting their texts to a particular type of audience.
10. What audience expectations have they
established or challenged by using this
narrative structure ?
• In the genre of Crime Thriller the audience would
generally have the following expectations about
narrative about narrative structure:
• Beginning - there are live normally.
• Middle - some bad happens.
• End the - solution gets resolved.
• Therefore, the narrative structure is conventional
because it goes in chronological order.
