Brief description:
What do you see?
Two main characters take it in turns showing themselves on the screen and they both create a
interactive button that you can press to choose what side you are going to be on as the film
goes along. The first character to appear holds his arm out and a shockwave creates the
interactive button, then seconds later the second character appears and two bolts of lightning
come across the screen and form the other button, then after this little clip has finished the
two buttons just stay there rotating until you pick a side.
Techniques used:
Animation, Visual Effects, Colour Rendering,
Graphics, Movement
Throughout the clip there is quite a lot of animation and visual effects, to begin with whilst the
characters are on the screen they are both tinted a different colour, yellow for the man and
blue for the woman, this indicated the two different sides and also relates to the characters
itself. Also the animation was the two lightning bolts shooting in and then exploding and
making the button, same with the sound waves that ripple out of the first button being made.
Advanced techniques:
Blur, Sharpen, Distortion, Rotation, Opacity
Rotation is a key advanced technique used in this motion graphic. After all the buttons have
been made and you have seen the little clip you are then left with two buttons that rotate. It’s
not the best animation that can be used but it’s effective because it’s the two symbols for the
different sides good and bad. There is also little use of distortion as the first button is made the
effect sends out a ripple effect that distorts vision around the button leaving a good entrance
for the second character to come in.
Technical comments:
Video Format, Screen Ratio, Resolution,
Frame rate, Compression
This video can be viewed in the highest resolution so it can be played on pretty much any
format with a resolution of 1080p the screen ratio is also the standard 4:3 which means that
for every 4 units wide it is 3 units high.
