Every patient and family member is influenced by his or her
cultural background. This program examines cultures and
sub-cultures and how they influence patients and families,
contributing to views about health-related issues. By the
end of this workshop, participants will be able to articulate
the need for sensitivity to cultural influences, describe cul-
tural and sub-cultural influences as they relate to patient
care, and identify techniques to assess cultural differences
in patients using the LEARN model.
