No matter what I do, I put my mind and heart into it as if it was my life. I have tried my best to think in the way a TMS has done. My job today is to make a plan of new-style orientation for artist Soobin Hoang Son. Hope you find it impressive, appropriate, and feasible. Thank you!

2. As a Talent Management Specialist (TMS), I believe
understanding the artist is a must. The second
important key to consider is public taste.
From these points, I divide my plan into 3 parts:

Before planning a new strategy, let’s take a look on what makes Soobin a Soobin today, what is his
image in the eyes of audiences, and how influenced he is in the music market.

BACKGROUND
• Born: 10/9/1992 (Virgo)
• Born in a family with music tradition. He has huge advantage with this.
• Occupation: singer, rapper, composer, producer, even dancer. Wrote more than 30 songs.
• Instruments: vocals, piano, monochord. Soobin is acknowledged as a multitalented artist.
• Going up from underground. Before becoming popular in Vietnamese entertainment industry, he used to be
a well-known figure in the Hanoi underground because of his variety in skills and outstanding appearance.
• Genres: R&B, dance, pop, ballad. Although he can sing many types, he admitted R&B had stolen his heart.
• Years active: 2011 – present.
• Labels: SpaceSpeakers Music Productionz, 1989s Production, ...
• Used to be trained in Korea, a big chance to learn and develop his music.
His fashion style is often described as an active, cool K-pop style.

4. UNDERSTAND
STYLE & CAREER
• Top 3 The Remix 2016 – a milestone in his career. 2016
is the year when Soobin was no longer a name in the
world of underground. He’s become a true singer.
• Chose to pursue R&B and Dance, but his most popular
song is “Phia sau mot co gai” – a pop ballad song.
• A young artist who wants to be recognized by true
talent, neither scandals nor tricks.
• Associated acts: Touliver (music wizard), Tien Cookie, Le
Hieu, … He did great job in choosing credible partners.
He is affected strongly by Touliver.
• New project: co-operate with Touliver to remix old
songs.

5. PROPOSE
He is on the right track.
He’s already different. He proved that he rose to fame
using his real strength. Except for a scandal with singer
Hien Ho, he’s one of rare singers with “clean” profile.
Known as a friendly, lovable, and a little bit shy artist,
Soobin is supported by a lot of fans. Besides, he is also
determined to develop his music with such an artistic
and pure style.

6. PROPOSE
Things expected to be improved:

As I mentioned above, Soobin is on the right track, so my point here is that we should not change all his style
but promote his inherent capacity as well as his image, in a new way.
• Despite differences between Soobin Hoang Son and Son Tung M-TP’ directions, many people still compare
them to each other, due to their quite Korean-affected fashion style and their ages. I myself a fan of Son
Tung, but I do think Soobin has his own style.
• Many people claimed that he couldn’t make his music go viral without scandals. TMS’s responsibility is to
stick with their artist’s views. If Soobin chose to live with tricks, I would respect his choice and support him
wholeheartedly, but he did not. Yes, I agree that he was not noticed as much as some other young singers
were; however, he still made his own hits with nice music. That is why he deserves to be known more. By
“more”, I mean both national and international audiences.
 In short, what we need to be focus on is to help Soobin:
shape a unique image
and make him attract more audiences

7. PROCEED

Soobin appeared to be a “prince in dream” - youthful, energetic, but
emotional and sometimes introverted. Based on these characters, I
think he can steel many hearts with a little bit more adult and gentle
fashion, mixing with some boyish spots.
o In Fashion: Plain long-sleeved shirt is a nice choice. Suits can be
considered. And denim will help break the rules sometimes. Different
from Son Tung with blazing and even quite extravagant style, Soobin
is milder and maturer, of course still cool and dynamic.

8. o In Music: Actually, pop ballad has brought him more fans than ever; but as he shared, R&B is his actual way
while pop ballad is only a “spice”. Soobin has his own reason to be loyal to R&B. In fact, R&B has become
more popular in Vietnam, and gradually get a foothold in the music market.
Therefore, I suggest that he keeps his R&B color as he wishes, and occasionally release some singles with
pop, ballad, or EDM style. Those are the most up-to-date genres. This will make him not only firm his style
but also satisfy audiences who easily get bored.
And his recent project with Touliver has received many nice responses. To remix old songs is a good choice
of him. It’s a new trend and Vietnamese youngsters seem to enjoy it. To keep going with this idea is
reasonable.
AUDIENCES
It is not overstating to say that Soobin can reach out to international music lovers. He has already had
some foreign fans on his Youtube. We should make chances to help his music touch more hearts in the
world.
The step is to make English versions of his songs. This requires specific skills in English. Learning English
in the next 2 years should be on the plan.
Besides these, fan services are necessary too. Fan meetings and TV shows should be kept.

9. Finally, if all goes well,
he may be ready to make a higher step.
How about being a “Korea’s Tourism
Ambassador in Vietnam”? It’s possible for an
idol like Soobin Hoang Son to gain this title.
Note that 2017 is the year when people
celebrate the 25th anniversary of Vietnam and
South Korea diplomatic relations.

He can record music videos in many locations in Korea in the next few
years, and simultaneously boost Korean tourism via social networks.
Keep on working as the face of famous Vietnamese and Korean brands
such as Biti’s Hunter, TH True Yogurt Topteen, Samsung Galaxy J7, ...
This is another method to show his effect and the connection between
the two countries.
In addition, cooperating with these companies is also a
way to have financial support and afford to work abroad.

10. To attract more audiences will make his image better, and to have unique
image will bring him more audiences. This is an interactive process, a circle
where his career can develop.
