ZIMRA Health and Safety Gala - A Massive Feat
Kuzvinzwa, underscored the
importance of the Gala which is held
annually in a spirit of competition and
fair play.
“Employee productivity is essential in
our organisation, since we are a vital
element in harnessing domestic
resources for the benefit of the State
and, indeed, the economy. This
explains why we continue to hold this
Gala each year where we come
together as one ZIMRA family. As the
theme aptly states, healthy living is
not an accident, but it is a result of a
personal decision that one has to
make,” said Mr Kuzvinzwa.
The fiercely energetic games, which
were played in an interesting spirit of
sportsmanship, saw teams competing
in quite a number of disciplines which
included soccer, netball, darts,
marathon, choral competitions, pool,
and tug-of-war, among other
disciplines.
There was an eruption of action as
Bulawayo emerged the absolute best
in all combined disciplines taking
home six gold, four silver and five
bronze medals, totalling 31 points on
top of the log. Bulawayo was followed
by Mutare who showcased massive
display of talent, taking home 29
points. They took six gold, three silver
and five bronze medals. Kurima came
third with three gold, eight silver and
two bronze medals with a total of 27

This year's competition was suitable
for people of all levels and abilities

the migrant workers became elderly
and were not able to take care of
themselves. This prompted the City
Council in conjunction with The
Department of Social Welfare to
convert the place into an Old People's

surrounding community. The Home
is now run by Roman Catholic
Franciscan Sisters, and is home to12
male and 4 female elderlies, the eldest

INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE
You Become What You Think
4
he greatest principle ever discovered, which
underlies all religion, psychology, and
Tphilosophy, is, ''You become what you think about
mostof thetime.''
Most of the time, forward looking people think about
the qualities they want and how to apply them daily.
They have a clear vision of where they are going, and
they convey this vision to everyone around them. They
have the courage to take risks, to move forward, to face
danger with no guarantee of success. Great people
have integrity. They deal honestly and
straightforwardly with each person. They tell the truth,
and they always keep their word. They get results by
using the strengths and knowledge of those around
them. They know how to listen and they know how to
learn.
Great people have foresight. They continually look
ahead and anticipate what might happen. They make
provisions to guard against possible reversals and put
themselves into a position to take advantage of possible
opportunities. They focus on what's important. They
concentrate their time and resources and the time and
resources on the activities that will make the most
difference.
Great people also cooperate well with others. They
are liked and respected by most people around them.
They go out of their way to get along well with the
key people upon which they depend. They truly
believe that people are their most valuable asset.
The most important contribution you can make in
life is to be a dependable person, accept responsibility
for results and dare to go forward.
