Cycle
1. Cyclists to have bells and use them.
2. Enforce no cycling on pavements (danger to pedestrians with mobility problems)
3. Joined up cycle lanes
4. Slow cycling so safer for cyclists.
5. Dropped kerb across grass between Ham Street at entrance to Cut Throat Alley.
6. Cut through cycle lane at Sandy Lane chicane
7. All changes/ renovations to streets should include improved cycle facilities.
8. Improve cycle routes to central London.
9. Cycle parking o/s Ashburnham Road shops
10. Cycling ‘facility’ around bend in Petersham Road
.
Bridge
11. Improve access to Twickenham amenities, become less disconnected
12. Vote for Radnor Bridge proposal
13. Ham is closed off, make it more accessible.
14. Cyclist bridge (but no road bridge)
15. New bridge would be an environmental disaster and is not needed.
16. Review use of bridge. Which part of Twickenham do we want to connect to?
17. Don’t have a new river bridge – the amount of traffic would wreck Ham
18. Yes to bridge to Twickenham x4
19. Bridge to Radnor Gardens not Marble Hill side of Twickenham – save
Hammertons ferry.
20. Broadly support foot/cycle bridge across from Ham to Twickenham but
smaller scale ideas for cycle improvements may use funding better.
21. Consider carefully the cost of a cycle bridge in relation to overall budget.
Traffic calming/ street scene
1. Traffic calming Ham Street (Sandy Lane to river car park). Ham Street one way to
be considered. No to loop Ham Street/ Back Lane.
2. Traffic calming. Introduce ‘Neighbourhood Zones’ 20mph in all residential streets.
3. Enforce proper parking i.e. not on pavements
4. Car clubs
5. Reduce dominance of car and increase provision for cyclists and pedestrians.
6. Humps needed to control speeding traffic in Church Road (will get worse with
Latchmere development)
7. Overgrown trees both sides of Ham Farm Road + footpath in terrible dangerous
condtion.
8. Less street furniture to reduce accidents (e.g. Kensington High Street)
9. Double yellow lines on main road bus route between Ham Gate Avenue and Ham
Parade (recent bad accident).
10. Introduce shared space where ‘roads’ are shared equally with pedestrians,
cyclists and cars.
11. Separate pedestrians and cyclists
12. Include cyclist when designing all roads and junctions
13. Are we getting close to the limit for parking capacity on some roads?
14. Traffic calming especially on Sandy Lane
Tow path
15. Improve surface of tow path Ham to Richmond near Petersham Meadows. No
separate cycle lane.
16. Segregate cycle and pedestrian tracks on riverside path x2
17. Keep cycling away from tow path – flooding makes it impossible.
18. Cycle route to Richmond avoiding Petersham Road
19. Don’t spoil natural beauty of tow path and river with a bridge and cycle lane.
River
20. River Taxi to Richmond (and London) x2
21. Oyster card use on river ferry.
22. Board boats at Teddingon Lock x2
23. Boat service Ham-Richmond-Kew Gardens x2
24. Improved lighting to Teddington Lock at night time.
Bus
25. 371 buses too fast on Sandy Lane
26. Improved access to Kingston hospital (re-route 371) x2
27. Extend 371 to nearer Tesco

Parking is not
under-utilised.
If must be more schools remember
Petersham corner is very susceptible to
traffic holdups and road drains might well
collapse again as happened in 1968-9 18
months- no road. So school enlargement
needs to take account of parking access,
buses and open spaces.
