Presentation 2 of a Women in Leadership Training Workshop showing how God's vision for a new creation shapes the way we approach and interpret the Scriptures.
3. CHRIST
For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak,
in subjection to angels. But one testified in a certain place,
saying:
“What is man that You are mindful of him,
Or the son of man that You take care of him?
You have made him a little lower than the angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor,
And set him over the works of Your hands.
You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”
For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left
nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet
see all things put under him. Hebrews 2:5-9
4. CHRIST
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the
angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and
honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for
everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all
things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons
to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect
through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those
who are being sanctified are all of one, for which
reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren…
Hebrews 2:5-11
10. JESUS
The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is
it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”
And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who
made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and
said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be
joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then,
they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined
together, let not man separate.”
They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a
certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”
He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts,
permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was
not so.”
Matthew 19:3-8
11. PRIESTHOOD
“Now take Aaron your brother, and his
sons with him, from among the children
of Israel, that he may minister to Me
as priest, Aaron and Aaron’s
sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and
Ithamar.” Exodus 28:1
12. PRIESTHOOD
“To Him who loved us and washed us from
our sins in His own blood, and has made
us kings and priests to His God and Father, to
Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.
Amen.” Revelation 1:5-6
14. CREATED FOR
PARTNERSHIP
18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that The
Human should be alone; I will make him a helper
comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the LORD God
formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air,
and brought them to The Human to see what he would
call them. And whatever The Human called each living
creature, that was its name. 20 So The Human gave
names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every
beast of the field. But for The Human there was not
found a helper comparable to him.
