2.  Thomas E. Tate established Tate Builders, a respected
home construction company in Martha’s Vineyard,
Massachusetts, 30 years ago. The company has
flourished under the ownership of Thomas “Tom” Tate,
who oversees all project phases, from the design,
construction planning, and fabrication stages to
project completion.
Metal fabrication is a manufacturing process for
stainless steel components before they are delivered
to a building site. Through fabrication, raw metal is
transformed into columns and beams that are then
used in construction.

3.  Fabrication techniques include work hardening,
machining, and welding. Throughout the fabrication
process, parts are repeatedly inspected for
accuracy.
As well as cutting and bending the columns and
beams to size using hammers, saws, shears, and press
brakes, metal fabricators also assemble the
components, fitting beams and columns with welded
flanges and bolt holes. Finally, the parts are primed
and painted. Fabricated metals are delivered in the
correct order to ensure a seamless erection process.
This is managed through complex architectural
software and rigorous processes.
