DEPARTMENTS OF THE COMPANY
6. CUT AND CARRY DEPARTMENT
• The Cut and Carry department, in the TRB
Division of the Moraiya plant, where I was
placed, manufactures the steel taper roller
cages of size range from 30mm to 1000mm.
• Alongside manufacturing the division carries
out oil degreasing, vibro cleaning, automated
and manual visual inspection.
• The Cut & Carry division contains a total of 11
mechanical presses out of which is classified
further as 8 power presses, 2 hydraulic presses
and 1 hybrid press.
• The manufacturing of cages is entirely
automatic from sheet to final product in all the
presses.

8. Inspection
There are two type of inspection carried out in process.
1. Visual Inspection
2. Auto Inspection
1. The cleaned cages are transported to the automatic visual inspection system.
2. The cages are transferred into the hopper altogether.
3. The conveyer then lifts the cages from the hopper and separates the cages into a similar
orientation.
4. The cages are then transferred for a quality check using a vertical lift.
5. In the automated inspection system the quality parameters are checked using various
cameras at different locations.
6. The third camera checks for the pillar defect, Top G Dent, Top G, Pillar width, Pillar
Burr, Top Cut, and MIP.
9. Taper Auto Department
TRB division produces various types of
tapered bearing cages. They are made up of
steel only, but they have various dimensional
differences. For different kinds of dimensional
requirements, different die and tool tips are
used.
These tips help to give dimensional accuracy
for various machining operations. In this
division, there are a total of 19 production
lines. Namely, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B,
5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A, 8B, 9A, 9B,
10A, 10B.

11. Experience
• TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
• Through this internship, I learned and observed how an industry works on a
professional level.
• The industry taught me how mass production occurs with full efficiency.
• PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
• Personally I had really good experience working in such a good company. All the
learning I did was with great fun.
• The working environment was also good and I never felt like I was an outsider.
• So, overall it was a great experience to do this internship at “HARSHA ENGINEERS
LTD.
12. Conclusion
• In the internship research, I observed that many times, machines remain idle
because of minor problems that appear at the times of working.
• This has to be stopped in order to continue the production perfectly.
• So I collected the data on when a machine stops, why the stoppage occurred and
how much time it takes to repair the issues.
• It helps the production line to perform efficiently.
