28. Study of different Fan used in every sprayer at mitra :
Following types of fan are used:-
1.Multiwing fan
2.Wing fan
3.Fenni fan
Objectives:
1.To study different types of fan used in mitra
2.Study air flow rate of machine.
3. Study of velocity of air.
Fan law:
1. Capacity is directly proportional to fan speed.
2. Pressure is proportional to square of fans speed.
3. Power required is proportional to cube of fan speed.
29. It is calculated by using anemometer as wind speed .
It is measure by volume or mass of air flow
By volume l/s, m3/hr.
By mass kg/s.
At mitra sprayer it is calculated as followed,
Q =A*V
Q= Air flow rate m3/hr.
A= Area opening for air space outlet m2
V= Air Velocity m/s or m/hr.
Area is calculated 𝐴 = 𝜋𝑟2m2
r = radius of back plate m
velocity of air v=distance travel/time taken m/s.
30. • Adjustable pitch setting with 1° increment ranging from 20° to 50°.
• 9 no. of Fan blades.
• Fan blades function counter-clockwise rotation.
• It is more reliable than other fans and works axially.
• Generally Broad blade type is used in mitra machine available for diameters
between 450 to 550 mm..
• It’s power consumption is less than other fans.
• Weight of fan is comparatively less than other fans.
• Automatic lock at fan mount shaft so it is compact in working.
Profiles
Available profiles: air foil, Broad blade type, sickle ,broad paddle, pressure max,
sickle, true Reversible types of fans.
.
MULTIWING
a. Sickle shape b. air foiled type c. Broad blade
31. Materials
The hub parts and blades are as standard manufactured in a pressure die cast silumin
alloy (EN AC-Al Si12 Cu1 (Fe)).
The bosses are machined from stainless steel.
Aluminum
Temperature range: -60°C to +245°C in continuous operation.
Temperature range: +245°C to +400°C for operation in 2 hours. The permissible
stress levels are reduced accordingly in our selection software Optimizer.
Stainless steel
Temperature range: -60°C to +400°C for operation in 2 hours.
For operation at 400° please apply minimum 2% tip clearance to the ducting as the
impeller will elongate at these temperatures
32. WING FAN
• It is one of fan producing venture in Australia and new Zealand
• It work setting ranges from 20 degree to 50 degree
• It allows maximum 12 to 14 blades
• Blades are a. extremely strong and very light
b. highly corrosion resistant
• Its weight is more as compared to other companies.
• Its market cost is less than Multiwing fan but creates more noise than
Multiwing fan in working.
Material used in fan production
1.Glass fiber reinforced polyamide( nylon, black) -40 to 110 degree Celsius
2.Carbon fiber reinforced polyamide ( nylon, grey) -35 to 100 degree Celsius
3.Die cast aluminum -40 to 150 degree Celsius
33. For determining direction of air air must flow in direction of
fan blade as shown to clockwise or anticlockwise
Clockwise and anticlock wise
working of fan
34. Fenni
• It is local fan producing company.
• The cost of fan is comparatively low.
• Weight of fan is quite less.
• Creates whistling sound while working.
• Air flow rate is quite good.
• It can used to set 35 to 38 degree in fan setting.
Material :
Fibre material is used in fan production.

37. In testing of air velocity of each fans of different companies like wing fan, Multiwing
and Fenni was taken in Consideration for fan selection for new version of gape master
bullet 616 and pome master 550
In this testing of fan it was concluded that Multiwing fan was better in performance of air
Velocity, air flow rate, reliability, power consumption.
So in present version of M.I.T.R.A Grape master bullet 616 and pome master 550
Multiwing Wide blade type of fan is fitted .
