2. How did you use technologies to
create your product?
Digital cameras:
The use of digital cameras to create a stop-motion is essential. We needed to take a series of still images in close proximity to be able to
create a moving clip. For support and stability we utilised tripods, this majorly helped us as we didn’t need to hold the camera and
furthermore the images wouldn’t be from different angles. At first we tried a Canon SLR which turned out to be quite difficult as each
image required different ISO(lighting) and different focus. We then used a standard Fujifilm camera which was easier to take pictures
from as the settings were on automatic and we did not need to change the lighting nor the focus however, the down-side was that we
lost major pixels.
Uploading to SlideShare/YouTube:
I used YouTube as inspiration for my stop-motion, I observed various stop-motion clips and images for motivation. I also focused on the
different camera angles and how different each image was from the previous. By uploading stop-motions to SlideShare not only does it
make it more simple to find but it also makes it more easier to access in a sense that you have one SlideShare account and can upload
various power points and documents yet find them all on one page with your own edited titles. We also found that SlideShare makes
everything run more smooth and quick.
3. How did you use technologies to
create your product?
Embedding in blog:
By embedding or uploading our work into a blog it makes it easier to share with others furthermore it makes it simpler to be able to present, I
can also upload multiple presentations at once and with different titles so that I can tell apart each piece of work. Also by uploading on
to blogs people from around the world can view your blogs and uploads, they can also comment and rate as to what they think is good,
bad or what can be changed on the blog. It also makes it easier to follow people on what they are doing.

4. How did this task enable you to
become creative?
Building narrative: Was it difficult?
Unlike in high school where we given a preliminary task with certain instructions and tasks to complete, we had to create a stop-motion from
scratch. Everything had to be our own work, meaning: the images, the equipment, the props, and the location. We were not given any
ideas as to what we could or should do. I found this was quite difficult as I couldn’t decide what I was going to base my stop-motion on
and so I found myself watching YouTube videos on how to make a good stop-motion and some examples of these stop-motions.
Another feature which I found a little difficult was the fact that the stop-motion had to have a start, a middle, and an ending. It had to
have some meaning and progress through it.
How did you decide what to use?
At first we couldn’t decide what we were going to base our stop-motion on and so the task appeared to be more difficult than we had actually
seemed. We tried and tested various ideas but we realised everything we were trying was too complex and so we decided just to play
around with some match sticks and make them dance. This may sound simple however it worked out quite well and was fun.
Drafting: How many ideas did you have?
As mentioned before we had many ideas, and put to the test quite a few of them. They turned out to be more than we could handle and too
challenging so we went back to a basic idea that we had started just in case we hadn’t achieved anything. This basic idea was moving
matchsticks.
5. How did this task enable you to
become creative?
Did you work with someone?
At first I decided to try and complete this on my own however after watching quite a few stop-motions on YouTube and other sites I realised
that maybe it would be better to have another person working with me. That is when I decided that I should work with another person,
obviously this had its advantages and disadvantages. Advantages obviously because it made it easier and loosened the burden, also
because one of us could work with the props and equipment whereas the other could then handle the camera and equipment.
However, there were times where we didn’t agree on what we were going to do and times where my partner didn’t show up which
slowed us down quite a bit.
Were there any limits in terms of resources,
time, location?
There weren’t major restrictions as to what we could or could not do. There were a few as to the fact we didn’t have some equipment for
example: Tripod, we had a strict deadline, lighting was good and bad sometimes, it’s also visible some images have better quality than
others.
