2. HISTORY AND ORIGIN OF JEANS
Denim jeans have become an integral part of everyday life, so much so
that most of us wonder where our favorite pair came from, how they
were manufactured.
During an unsuccessful replication attempt of a hard-wearing cotton
fabric known as ‘jeane’ (named after the city of Genoa, in Italy ) the fabric
weavers of Nîmes realized they had developed a unique and sturdy fabric
unlike anything else.. Modern jeans began to appear in the 1920s.
Here are some facts you didn’t know about Denim:
• In the 50s, jeans were seen by many as a form of rebellion, leading
them to be banned from schools, theatres and restaurants.
• One bale of cotton contains enough raw material to produce 325 pairs
of jeans.
But as it’s not just the dress up, It’s about our food and culture too.
3. IMPACT ON CULTURE AND RELIGION
The obligations of a Muslim have long been forgotten. No longer do people respond to the
call for prayers, No longer do they keep fasts in Ramzan, in fact, they eat or smoke openly.
Alcohol, prostitution, drugs are becoming regular and despite their openness, no actions are
being taken to eliminate them from our society.
Nowadays, with the changing trends in fashion and lifestyle, youngsters have become too
much influenced by western media and their surroundings that their interests have diverted
elsewhere.
For example, they are more enthusiastic about Holi, Diwali, Christmas, Halloween, and New
Year.
All these celebrations are not included in our culture but yet we find them more amusing
and enjoyable.
4. MODERNIZATION OF CULTURE
1.Transition of traditional culture to modern culture
We can also relate the Jeans culture to the modernization of culture.
It is the transition from traditional culture to modern culture which is somewhat
necessary to survive the society.
As the cultural dress of people Pakistan before the modernization used be Shalwar
Kameez.
2. Survival in the Society
But as we enter towards our professional life, we have moved towards professional
get up.
The classic cultural modernization is influenced by social, political,
economic and so on.
3. Drawback of culture modernization
One of the draw backs of modernization could be that it may influence family life in
terms of cultural values by communication etc.
Another example is the celebration of events that were not celebrated by Muslims in
the past like Diwali Christmas and Holi etc.
5. TRADITIONAL FOOD
The traditional concept of home-cooked food in our culture is being
replaced by fast food meals from renowned restaurants like KFC, Pizza Hut
and McDonalds.
The Pakistani dishes which were famous for their taste, hardly seem to
find acceptance amongst the youth.
As of today, we see cold drinks being used to such an extent that they are
part of almost every meal, even in formal dinners.
