2. How my opening film uses genre
• The decisions about genre to
attract the audience includes
the element of suspense for
example in the scenes in which
build up the idea whos that
like in the scene of the door
handle being turned and the
siluet shot of the door which
then shuts to a black screen as
Will runs towards the door.
3. • Another way we have used Genre includes the way
we have dressed our characters for example the
secret agent is dressed in the stereotypical black suit
and tie which again is linked with the genre
Action/Thriller and is something which when the
audience see in the film they would recognise the
action/thriller side of the film.
4. How my opening film uses narrative
• The opening sequence
includes a soft and slow
tempo in the park and then
at the beginning of the house
scene and then when Will
realises the problem the
tempo suddenly changes and
creates the suspense keeping
the audience glued to the
screen.
5. • When we looked at other films under the same
genre as our film we realised that many of them had
a slow tempo start to them which would ease the
audience into the film and set the scene for the rest
of the film for example in Batman: The dark knight
rises is a slow introduction of the three hostages on
the plane and introducing the main villain of Bain
and then suddenly changes to violence and action.
6. How my opening film uses style
• The style of my film hooks the audience
because of the way the characters look
because the secret agent in his costume
makes the audience ask what's his job and just
more general questions about that character?
7. • We also hooked our audience with the music
we used for example many movies today have
a catchy soundtrack or a big hit sound track,
however as we were restricted to a cc
copyrighted music we had to make the chosen
music link with the film as i think we have
done, we used a up beat and quick tempoed
music to keep the audience engaged in the
film.
