2. Political
• A political change and revolution which I would like to see and have is for making politics more interesting
and engaging for younger people. Not many young people are interested in politics which makes me
wonder why only adults and elderly citizens are. What hit me straight away was the voting system you
have to be the age of 18 or over in England to be able to vote. I think that this is the reason why young
citizens of England are not interested in politics, I think that you should be able to vote by the age of 15.
When you are 15 years of age this means that you’re are in year 11 the final year of school so this means
that 15 year olds would be mature and would take an interest in politics if given the chance. Younger
people should have a say in what they think is right too as they are the next generation so at the end of
the day they are far more important than us, as they are the future of this country. In addition to all of this
another way you could gain the interest in politics from younger people is by having classes in school
about politics which you can also take for GCSE. I think this would be an extremely good idea as then there
would be a huge interest in politics and these young people could change the future for the better of
mankind.
3. Economical change
• An economical change and revolution which I would like to see be cast over the world is the prevention of
litter, especially plastic. Plastic is one of the most used materials in the world such as water bottles, plastic
bags and nearly every grocery item is wrapped up in plastic material. Even though plastic may not seem
dangerous and harmful it really is! People who litter plastic kill animals in many ways, animals and rodents
get their heads trapped in it or even choke on it thinking that it’s food. Plastic kills wildlife and is
extremely dangerous, in addition to this the ocean is filled with litter and plastic as that’s where it all goes
in the end. The ocean is supposed to be clean and pure but thanks to society it’s extremely dirty filled with
plastic litter, here is a stat which I found on google, right now an estimated 12.7 million tonnes of plastic
– everything from plastic bottles and bags to microbeads – end up in our oceans each year. That’s a
truck load of rubbish a minute. This plastic is killing sea life creatures such as fish, turtles, dolphins and
much more. Ultimately we could be causing these creatures to become extinct. Another reason plastic
affects society is by getting in our very own bodies. We eat fish and fish live in the water which is where
all our plastic waste ends up, this results in the fish eating the plastic and then we eat the fish so in the
end the plastic ends up in our bodies. Plastic waste needs to stop and fast as it’s harming the world in so
many extreme ways. The solution to preventing plastic waste is by simply recycling it. Don’t throw your
plastic waste away you should always recycle it. Another way to stop harming the world with plastic
waste is by simply using less of it, many super markets are going to try and become plastic free such as
the super market Ice land. Ice land are known for their plastic contained food but they have put out a
statement saying that by 5 years they hope to be plastic free, I think this is extraordinary as they are
trying to make a change to the world for the better of the animal kingdom and protecting animals from
becoming extinct.
4. Social change
• A social change that I would like to see is a decrease in the crime rate of gang attacks and stabbings in
London. Knife crime is a serious threat in London as it is a very frequent occurrence. The menace of knife
crime caused by London street gangs is a “significant issue” that needs more money to tackle it, the
Metropolitan Police Commissioner has said. Every day I hear a news story about another person being
stabbed, the most heart breaking part of these stories is that they are usually young adults and teenagers
who still have their whole life ahead of them. Gang culture is getting extremely out of control and I would
like to see a social change in gang attacks and knife crime, I want to feel safe and make London a better
city for everyone. The way which we could feel safer is by increasing the number of police stations and
police staff. We could assign more police officers to schools and colleges and assign more police officers
to the rural areas of London where must crime takes place such as Hackney, Wood green and Waltham
forest. If you have to be an extremist then they could start adding the policy of checking bags and
students when they enter college or school. Just like in airports and football matches they could have
metal detectors and security guards should search the students more and make sure for certain that they
are not carrying any kind of weapon.
5. Technological change
• A technological change which I am extremely interested in is the future of gaming using VR headsets. It’s
amazing how VR takes you in to the reality of virtual gaming and makes you feel as though it’s all really
happening in the world around you. Video games are usually played with a remote controller as you sit
down on the sofa playing the game from your TV. The graphics are amazing and the games are all great
fun but the future of gaming has taken video games up to the next level. Now there are headsets which
you purchase and put on your face which cover your eyes like a pair of sunglasses. These headsets
transport you into the game so you see what’s actually in the game, the glasses are like holograms which
transport you into the game even though it’s all just an illusion it looks fantastic. Now people are buying
games for the VR headsets and playing games in virtual reality and it’s blowing up in the gaming industry
and everyone really likes it. If you turn your head around you will see what’s behind you and if you move
your hands around you are able to see your virtual hands moving this goes this same with moving too. You
have to hold these two handle sticks which act as controllers much like the Nintendo Wii, when holding
them it allows you to move your hands and arms around in the virtual reality.
