Suzanne Miller presented on adopting agile practices in highly regulated environments like the Department of Defense (DoD). She discussed some of the cultural differences between traditional DoD processes and agile methods that can cause challenges. Miller's organization, the Software Engineering Institute, analyzed these challenges and identified factors like acquisition strategies and oversight mechanisms that impact agile adoption. Lessons from successful DoD programs may translate to other regulated fields facing similar issues.
