SESSION (1) TECHNICAL TECHSOLVE From slide 1 to slide 12 (INTRODUCTION) 1. Welcome to SCCI and we are glad to have you in TechSolve 2. We talked about the HR role which is helping each one of us with any problems or troubles which face us through our journey in SCCI, Also they are an important source of spirit. 3. We talked about the main rules which will guarantee the best environment for us all to get the full benefits out of the session. The rules are (no side talks, cell phones silent, raise your hand before answering) 4. The difference between the hard skills and soft skills (Hard: which we gain through our study beside courses and trainings) (Soft: like team work, presentation, communication and so on, those skills won’t be gained till you practice them) 5. We talked about TechSolve and the role of the TechSolvers in SCCI as we said SCCI is a puzzle of 5 pieces OUR PART is to solve the problems which will face us on the conference days besides creating a prototype or a model as needed. 6. We said that TechSolve is a mix between technology and problem solving, then we defined technology as anything made by human which makes his life easier or unleashes any problem that face the humanity such as (chairs, cars, umbrella and laptops) . 7. In TechSolve we won’t learn the theoretical part at all, we only care about the practical part of how we will use the components and for what. 8. Through our sessions we will be had enough with the understanding our components and work also the practicing part by trying and applying so that we could be ready for the CONFERENCE to create and innovate. 9. We talked about our main topics which we will discuss through our sessions. Slide 13 & 14 1. We discussed the simplest electric circuit and why we need each components ( will be mentioned down ) Slide 15 to 24 (main components which we will need) 1. Power source: provides the circuit with the power needed such as batteries. 2. Switch: Controls when to provide the circuit with power or not 3. Led: could be used to light up or as a diode 4. Resistance: Used to decrease the current down as to protect the components 5. Transistor: could be used as a digital switch which is faster than the normal one, or used as a current amplifier 6. Diode: forces the current to flow in one direction only (from the black end to the grey one) 7. Capacitor: used to store electrical energy from batteries for example to discharge the energy stored when needed 8. Wires: used to connect the components and lets the current to pass through 9. Breadboard: is used as a stand base to build on your project and to help us connect all the components Slide 25 1. We splitted to teams and started to light a led using wires, breadboard and a battery Slide 26 to the end 1. Was a recap on what have been said in a shape of a POP quiz (but it wasn’t of course) THANK YOU
