Professional Development
Introduction to
Beyond Knowledge Consultancy
BK presents a team of professional consultants and subject specialists to keep you abreast
with the latest research, share ideas you can put into practice instantly in class and provide
opportunities for you to share, analyze and reflect on different pedagogical features of teaching.
The team present(s) professional development programmes including: developmental classroom
observations, short courses, generic, subject and skill-specific training, and much more!
BK conveys the message, “We don’t need to change the world, to nudge a little bit of it along the way is
enough.” As Wright (1998) states, “I certainly did not develop them - I can’t develop anyone. Only individuals
can help themselves, I can sometimes help by opening a few doors.” BK opens doors to its clients finding
meaning to their queries through the spirit of enquiry, experimentation, evaluation and self-actualization which
can help them transform their existing knowledge to new ways of working, ensuring effective professional
development.
Methodology
The courses include: innovative ideas, interactive/collaborative tasks, role plays, energisers, video
presentations, opportunities to review theories and approaches, learning about the latest research, homework
articles, reflective journals, individual and group presentations, day books containing relevant articles and
many other activities to facilitate the learning process.
BK offers professional development opportunities/courses for: school heads, academic managers,
teachers, coordinators, teacher trainers, students, parents and anyone who is keen to embrace professional
development.
Rediscover your passion for teaching and
make a real difference in the classroom!
Certification
Every individual who successfully completes
the training programme will be awarded a Certificate
of Completion, issued by BKC. “If we want to become
better teachers, and if we
want our learners to do better, it’s
extremely important for us to do
professional development.”
Annamana Pinter
“Opportunities to teach
may entail a work environment,
which is supportive and not restrictive
of professional learning, continuous improvement,
and the opportunity to teach, and teach well,
rather than merely survive.”
Wood (1992)
“Research shows that
professional development is much more
likely to be effective when it is classroom-based and
when it brings in expertise from outside the
school.”Dr. Catherine Walter, University
Lecturer in Linguistics Department of
Education, University of Oxford
“I have not only enjoyed the session,
but learnt about people’s attitude and behaviour towards
professional development. The shared experiences and variety of
interactive tasks have helped me understand Continuous Professional
Development and how teachers learn.” Wajiha Khurram, Director HR &
Development-Silver Oaks School & College, Pakistan
Tayyaba Aquil

“The session was a superb exposition
of the skills, knowledge and attitudes required
for successful teacher education. The new strategies
