Status : Concept
This high-end residence with its cutting edge de-
sign is situated within a unique setting in Balan-
gan, Bali. Due to the spacious design and its huge,
nearly seamless glas elements facing the pool and
garden area, the residents can enjoy panoramic
views to the sea.
The building is orientated so that privacy is main-
tained and bedrooms are protected from the full
glare of the sun. On the north side, which faces the
neighbouring villa, plants and geometric, wood-
en structures are used to enhance the buildings
wooden elements while providing extra privacy.
Central focal point of the outdoor area is the main
pool with its integrated jacuzzi. A waterfall, which
contects the two of them, makes the pool area feel
more natural. The Gym, located on the south side
of the garden area, provides a tranquil place for a
workout with a beautifull garden view.

This restaurant will become the main
gathering space and frequent destination.
Therefore its architecture will need to be of
interest and be able to evolve its appearance
throughout the day. This will mean its
arrangement will offer flexibility to change
table arrangements, food features,
entertainment etc. It will also have in built
aspects such as materials which have strong
relations to light and shadow, sensitive use
of lighting and the sound and reflective
qualities that ponds and water features
provide.
As the main theme of the restaurant is to
bring nature inside, the scene looks to
opulent laid back living / dining in harmony
with the environment. Luxurious comfort is
enhanced by a sense of direct contact with
the elements, as water trickles and light
wafts through an airy interior that caters to
both outdoor living and fine dining. Inspired
by its natural setting and Lombok
symbolism, the scheme subtley draws on
glowing jewel colours and warm tones.
Natural Indonesian textures and
ornamentation will also help create richly
distinct surroundings that capture a unique
sense of place.

Strategically located on the east side of
Bali, this stunning resort with its black
sanded beach offers a peaceful luxury
ocean lifestlye experience while being near
to the touristic delights found along the
coastline. By creating interesting contem-
porary building forms enriched with natu-
ral materials and Balinese culture, a seem-
less union can be made between holistic
built spaces and an iconic space which de-
fines a sense of locality.
Although a lot of units have been effe-
ciently provided, open spaces and green-
ery have been maximised to enhance the
sense of luxury and views towards the sea.
By adding other facilities within these ar-
eas such as gardens, a library and a cafe,
greater internal interest within the site is
created.
The Beach Club will be one of the main
highlights of the resort, being a major ar-
chitectural focal point with its 180 degree
view towards the ocean. The building cre-
ates interest in its layout by locating its
activities in various positions and playing
with levels creating unexpected tiered view
points and arrangements.

adding flavours in caving, material abstract-
ed ornamentation.

The main goal of project is to cast a play-
ground and kindergarten that can intro-
duce the kids and toddlers about nature,
and its local context. Therefore the joglos
are used to be the background, surround-
ing the amphiteather, and the land con-
tour are designed in a way to reflect the
rice field. The playground are designed to
be natural yet still safe.
They involve the elements of nature such
as river, rocks, sand, earth, bamboo and
wood.

The Practice is Yoga community hub and
teacher training center situated on a rice
paddy field in Batubolong Area. Tak-
ing the shape of “topi caping”, the local
farmer’s hat, the main building blends in
with its context and takes its part to em-
phasize the identity of the area.
The main structure used bamboo form-
ing the layers of circle to create a reso-
nance at the ceiling. This concept is ap-
plied to cast a natural holistic feel that
integrate well with Yoga activity.

viromenty design. and also this house can
breath (good cross ventilation) . As the

the area, the desire was to create a bench-
mark from which all future developments
in the area would need to aspire to. This
would not only be the case in terms of ar-
chitectural quality, but also with its envi-
ronmental impact.
