Analysis of two unique Crowdfunding campaigns and why they were successful/unsuccessful

Ouya is a new kind of video game platform
designed for video game developers. Their
initial goal was to raise about 1 million dollars to
create the product, but ended up raising about 8
and a half million.

5. I Loved all of their unique reqards, Custom
Usernames for the first $5 and $10 spent, and
then custom consoles, controllers, and emblems
to sweeten the deal as the user began to donate
more.

6. The video was
extremely
professional, clear,
and clean. It was
very straight to the
point and well
thought out.

7. The main reason I feel this
product succeeded is because of
the excitement of a new product,
and the rewards that accompanied
backing the creation of it

9. Bioluminescent is a campaign created by a
college student looking to record an album
but doesn’t have the funds for the
recording equipment. His goal is to raise
$1000 which would cover the cost to
create his masterpiece

10. There were only two rewards, and both
involved receiving a copy of his CD and a
handwritten thank you note. Though sweet,
This to me does not seem well thought out,
and it seems as if these aren’t really rewards
at all

11. The project had no video, which I
believe greatly hurt the campaign

12. I believe the campaign failed because
of the lack of trust created. There was
no video, little information, and the
rewards were not enticing.
