  11. 11. F . A . Q . What is the $49 fee? When do I get paid? How soon can I expect my first student? How are students billed? Can I refuse a student? A yearly certification fee that includes your background check and administrative upkeep on your account. Lessons marked between 1 st - 15 th are paid on the 22 nd Lessons marked between 16 th - 31 st are paid on the 7 th The national average is 50 days. Most teachers will receive their first student between 2 – 8 weeks of going live. Most students are on a monthly plan and are billed on the 25 th of every month for the following month's lessons. Flex Students are billed for another package of lessons one week after the last paid lesson is marked as complete. Our team works extremely hard to set up each individual student. We cannot work on a pick and choose basis – once you are assigned a student he/she is yours to keep! Only in extreme cases will we place your student with another teacher. ? ? ? ? ?

  14. 14. <ul>Must be ACCURATE at all times </ul>Must be confirmed ('saved') or updated at least once every 30 days . <ul>If you are going to be changing locations, we need at least 30 days notice. Notify us ahead of time if you cannot take on more students. </ul>Reach out to students immediately if there is a conflict. Availability Calendar – your ongoing availability
  15. 15. Use the time-off tool to schedule gigs, appointments, vacations, etc that conflict with your regular availability! Just like availability, it must be accurate and up to date. Verbal/written 30 days notice required for vacations 3 weeks or longer If your time off conflicts with a scheduled student please reach out to him/her IMMEDIATELY to reschedule, new students included. Time–off is a sign of great communication! Time Off

About Me -Short and to the point. - 1 st person sounds approachable! -Show your PASSION for music and teaching. -Help students to love you by showing them who you are. Lesson Details -What is your teaching personality? -(Beware of technical jargon – 80% of students are beginners!) Specialties -Your best genres, styles and methods. Preferences: Please let us know your student preferences ahead of time. We will do our best to accommodate them, but we cannot guarantee that you will not get a student outside of your age range, musical taste, etc...
  17. 17. Creating a Customized Craig's List Ad (Under 'Profile') Send a copy of your Craig's List link to [email_address] for a monthly cash prize drawing!
  18. 18. Use our online video tool to make a video introducing yourself to potential students! Videos will be featured on our YouTube channel and Facebook page. For helpful tips and a link to our video tool, visit Submit an article for the TakeLessons blog ! As a guest author, you can share tips with our readers and gain exposure across the internet! Each week we honor a “Teacher of the Week” who has shown outstanding commitment to the TakeLessons program and their students. Teachers who are selected for this honor are featured on our Facebook page and blog.

We're Placing a New TakeLessons Student With you!” Contacting Your Student - Contact your student and mark the link in the system within 48 hours of receiving the email notification. Notification – When a new student is booked you will receive an email containing: <ul><li>Student's name and contact information

  29. 29. Marking Lessons, Getting Paid Complete: The lesson took place as scheduled. Missed: The student missed the lesson without 24 hours notice. Reschedule: The lesson needs to be rescheduled. Mark or reschedule lessons within 72 hours of the scheduled completion time. Complete Missed Reschedule
  30. 30. Complete! <ul><li>After marking a lesson as complete, fill out the lesson journal.
  31. 31. Use the lesson journal to track progress and to motivate and encourage your student!
  32. 32. Journals keep parents informed and give them the tools to help their kids practice. </li></ul>
  33. 33. The Student Rescheduling Policy Missed Reschedule <ul><li>Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice can be marked as 'missed.'
  34. 34. Marking a lesson as missed sends a notification to the student stating that the lesson will not be made up.
  35. 35. You will be paid for a missed lesson. </li></ul>Students are required to provide 24 hours notice in order to be eligible for a reschedule, and they can only reschedule one lesson per month . Students must make up rescheduled lessons within the month originally scheduled. Lessons that are not made up by the end of the month will be automatically forfeited . Lessons cannot be credited to the next month unless there is an emergency requiring us to do so.
