1. Product profile :
Toughtop 20 is two component chemically curing aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating. It has a glossy finish with very
good gloss retention. It is a high solids, high build product. It is fast drying. It can be used direct to metal. The coating is
highly flexible, impact resistant and has excellent adhesion. To be used as topcoat in atmospheric environments.
Polyurethane coating (also known as PU coating) on metal provides exceptional weathering performance
characteristics. This coating, commonly referred to as poly coating, is used in virtually all industrial markets to provide a
smooth durable finish that has superior resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and chemical exposure. Polyurethanes are
normally used to topcoat high build epoxy and inorganic zinc.

PROPERTY PROFILE :
A high performance finishing coat for structural steel in aggressive and corrosive environments such as onshore and
offshore steel superstructures, pipelines and bridges etc. Also suitable as a finishing coat for concrete surfaces where
high durability is desired.
 Easy maintenance coating with long term recoatability properties.
 Excellent colour and gloss retention.
 Excellent flow and levelling properties.
 Resistant to spillage or splashes of mild chemicals.
 Able to achieve a film build of 75µm in a single coat application.
 Excellent UV resistance and overall durability properties.
Application examples:
Recommended for refineries, power plants, bridges, buildings , offshore environments and mining equipments.
SURFACE PREPERATION : For optimum performance, this product should be applied to a surface that has been blast
cleaned and suitably primed and built (e.g. with Zifo Primer or Miscoat MIO) • For recoating application, underlying
system should be sound and undamaged. • Ensure that the surface to be over-coated is clean, dry, and free from dust,
grease and oil, or any other surface contaminants. • Always ensure the maximum over-coating time for the primer or build-
coat has not been exceeded prior to application.
APPLICATION :
Stir base thoroughly then mix four parts base and one part hardener by volume to uniform consistency. Allow the mixture
to mature for 20-30 min. and stir again before application & occasionally during use to prevent settling of metallic zinc.
For Brush, Roller, Airless spray application, no thinning is required. In conventional spraying, 5% thinning is recommended
for ease of application.
NOTE:
1) Use the mixed paint within specified pot life period.
2) Do not apply at temperatures below 10° C or at high relative humidity, above 90% or during rain, fog or mist.
3) Brushes & spray equipment should be cleaned with Thinner Toblux-102 TT (Maximum 5% addition) .
The product can be applied by Spray: Use airless spray. Brush: Recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Care
are must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
