3. INTRODUCTION OF DOMAIN/PROJECT
1. A First-Information-Report is a document prepared by police organization.
2. FIR is to develop crime reporting and management system which is easily accessible to the police
department
3. An FIR is an important document because it set the process of criminal justice in motion. It is only after the
FIR is registered in the police station that the police take up investigation of the case.
4. The person giving information or making a complaint has a right to demand that the information is
recorded by the police be read to him or her.
5. Once the information has been recorded by the police it must be signed by the person giving the
information.
