3. DEFINITION
As our body has a number of soft parts, it is
necessary to have hard framework
supporting these parts. So this frame work
is provided by the bones and is called the
skeleton. It gives a shape and strength to
the body. It also protect the soft inner
organs of our body. Every human body is
consist of 206 bones.
For example:
⮚Heart
⮚Lungs

The human body is consist of following
main parts.
5. MAIN PARTS OF HUMAN SKELETON
SKULL
The skull is the bony structure
that surrounds and protects our
brain. The upper portion made
up of 8 flat bones joined
together. The face and jaw
contain 13 bones.

small ring like bones called
vertebrae. It is a hollow bony
tube. Ball and socket joint: A
joint in which rounded end of

different types of movement only the
skull joint do not allow the
movement. We can move our lower
leg only in one direction because
our knee joint does not allow
movement in other direction.
9. FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETAL SYSTEM
Plays an important role in movement,
provides a strong, stable, and mobile
framework upon which the muscles act.
Supports and protects your organs.
