The document summarizes an electrical and energy audit conducted by F&M Private Limited at Bank Islamic. The audit included a visual inspection of electrical panels and distribution boards, earth testing, thermography to detect abnormal temperatures, analysis of electrical drawings and load distribution, and an analysis of lighting, computer, and AC systems to identify savings opportunities. Key recommendations included rectifying issues with panels and distribution boards, addressing unsafe earth readings, balancing overloaded circuits, improving unbalanced three-phase loading, reducing unused computer and AC runtime, and replacing non-inverter AC units. Total estimated monthly savings identified were 336,815 Pakistani Rupees.

Electrical & Energy Audit Summary for Bank Islamic
1. Electrical &
Energy Audit
Client : Bank Islamic.
Auditor : F&M Pvt. Ltd.

Introduction
“F&M was established with the aim to provide one window solutions for the Industries of Pakistan with
respect to international codes and standards, quality, and integrity. We are committed and determined
to deliver innovative services and solutions that will assist our customers to accomplish their goals.”
MANAGING DIRECTOR: SYED FARUKH MAZHAR
4. Electrical Audit & Standard
“An electrical audit is completed at an industry or commercial building to determine its electrical
efficiency. Simply put, electrical efficiency means using less energy to do the same job. The audit will
provide you with complete electricity consumption and electrical efficiency assessment.”
Standard that we follow:
•IEC 61439, 60364-6 (Visual Inspection / Earthing)
•NFPA 70 E (Electrical Safety Audit)
•ASTM E 1934/37 (Thermography)
•BS-767 (Load Management)
•NETA/ANSI (Insulation Resistance Test)
5. Visual Inspection at Bank Islami”
F&M Private Limited conducted the Visual inspection of MD’S and SMD’S based on IEC 61439, 60364-6
Observations
•LV Panel must be maintain/ rectify on urgent basis, main incoming
cable must be route properly, and its manual changeover must be clean.
•Branch DB’s must be rectify on priority basics due to its improper
designing.
•2nd floor cable tray not cover properly.
Recommendations
The LV and Branch DBs need to rectify on an urgent basis
because these DBs were not in a good condition
6. “Earth Testing”
“Earthing audit conducted by F&M private limited ensures the good health of the complete Earthing system. It
is imperative that the Earthing system is inspected periodically to ensure efficiency.
Observations
• Proper earthing required in several Panels.
• More than 5 ohms resistance of earth found on various DB’S.
• Total of 20 DBs, 02 DBs were not lying in an acceptable range
(UPS SDB-02 GF) Branch and (4F SDB-01) Near Data Centre.
•Recommendations.
Need to rectify this earthing issue as early as possible.
7. “Thermography”
Thermography is the process of using an infrared camera to look for abnormally hot or cold areas on a component
operating under normal conditions. It is a viable nondestructive evaluation technique and is the simplest of all
thermal inspection techniques.
Observations
• Several DBs are lying in Moderate category which are unsatisfactory.
• Several DB’s have overloaded circuits & equipment.
• Electrical Fire can erupt due to looseness or overload of circuit
•Recommendation
4*DB lies in Moderate category.
It is requires to shift the load on particular DB’s in order to
lower the temperature in a safe zone.
8. “Electrical Drawings” (SLD)
“Electrical Drawings are built internationally & widely used to check the Quality of Electrical systems & for Troubleshooting as per
International Standards. Electrical System Studies are done to find out system deficiencies & loopholes in existing networks via
specific studies.”
• Observations
• DB’S has design flows in distribution network.
• SMDB’S Should follow the IEC standard for proper designing of
cable, breaker, neutral for each load and earthing.
•Recommendation
Branch DB have not proper design flow of current to meet our
Standard, MCCB in order to avoid Short Circuit and protect the
distribution network.
9. “Load Management”
“Load management program is necessary to balance the three-phase load. We measure the load on each phase and then balance it.”
• Observations
•The distribution network of Bank Islamic, has unbalanced three
phase load.
•Several DBs are Ampere values are unbalanced, not equally
divided.
Recommendation.
7*DB’s has unbalanced load and need to shifts the
load.
11. “Analysis”
1. Power Analysis
The TDD of the neutral wire of the 2nd floor LP Panel is exceed the
proposed TDD limit is 15%.
2. Lighting System Analysis
We have measured LUX and found that in several locations light intensity is below the standard
limits
Recommendations
By installing AHF we can reduce harmonic and also we can retrieve electricity bill up to 5%.
Increasing the LED capacity(watts)/quantity to achieve the standard limits.
12. “Analysis”
3. Computer System Analysis
Several PCs were on during launch time and no one is using/operating
4. AC System Analysis
Floor Standing units are non-inverter and they are less energy efficient.
Recommendation.
•By reducing 2hr usage of the PC and complete shutdown of it, we can save monthly electricity bills up
to PKR 19,942.
For AC systems replace non-inverter with Inverter.
13. “Savings”
Description Savings in PKR (Monthly)
1. By installing AHF 5% of electricity bill saving can be achieve (88,666)
2. By reducing @2hr usage of PC’s 19,942
3. By reducing @2hr usage of AC’s 146,997
4. By replacing Non-Inverter to Inverter 81,230
Total Estimated Saving Per Month 336,815
