• Analysis: while light is mainly focused
on her you can see it on the wheel and
a bit of the sword
• Interpretation: a woman surrounded by
methods of her execution
• Evaluation: it is a great painting with
detail

painting, Jesus talking with doctors
• Analysis: Jesus youthful appearance and
him being in the middle surrounded
by the old doctors make him the center
point
• Interpretation: it looks like the painting is
saying Jesus is better than these old
doctors
• Evaluation: it is a nice painting showing
Jesus' calm expression
5. Saint Sebastian
-Bronzino
• Description: around 1533, oil on canvas,
Italian painting, Saint Sebastian was a martyr
who was shot by arrows and survived but was
later killed
• Analysis: his torso is the main focus since it is
surrounded by a pink cloth
• Interpretation:
• Evaluation: it is a good artwork showing Saint
Sebastian with a relaxed posture surround by
a pink cloth

• Analysis: her pale skin contrast her with
the background
• Interpretation: this is what an ideal
woman looked like
• Evaluation: it is a good painting I like how
the green velvet of her dress looks

• Analysis: with the gold background
Christ's blue clothes makes him stand
out and stand apart from the others
• Interpretation: Christ speaking with a
woman
• Evaluation: this is a picture of its time the
building and the disciples look awkward
at the attempt to create space

by an Archangel
• Analysis: The red drape and yellow light
contrasts with Mary's blue clothes making
her stand out.
• Interpretation: Mary is being told important
news.
• Evaluation: it is a good painting showing
Mary's surprise

• Description: 1489-1490, oil on canvas, Italian
painting, side profile of Giovanna made after her

• Analysis: her lack of expression still shows her
nature
• Interpretation: Giovanna's upright posture and
the bible with other objects in the
background suggest her of good character
• Evaluation: it is a good painting however her hair
looks flat, but her clothes have better detail
10. The Death of Hyacinthus
-Giambattista Tiepolo
• Description: around 1752-1753,oil on
canvas, Italian painting, Hyacinthus was
Apollos' lover, but he got hit in the head
with a discus and dies much to Apollos'
grief, so he was transformed into a
hyacinth
• Analysis: Apollo and Hyacinthus are the
main focus because everyone else is in the
background shadowed
• Interpretation: Apollo is very upset with
Hyacinthus death
• Evaluation: this has great quality showing
Apollo grieving over Hyacinthus

• Description: 1866, oil on

naturalism, realism and symbolism
• Analysis: the woman is situated right
by the tree in the center and is
framed by the lake even though the
sky is light she is depicted as
shadowed as her surroundings
• Interpretation: a lonely woman in
the woods
• Evaluation: this is a lovely artwork it
really evokes the lonlieness

and the solid color of Mary and
the Archangel give them a
sculpture look

• Evaluation: this is really good
when I first saw this, I thought it
was a sculpture
