Food and feeding: it is carnivorous
feeding on teleostean fishes shrimp and
other crustaceans.
Juveniles: feed more on crustaceans

4. Spawning season: on southeast coast nov-
dec.
on mangalore it spawns almost throughout
the year peak at jan- may.
Fecundity: fecundity is 9000-79000 in fish of
16.3-21.4 cm length and 60-1221gm weight.

5. FECUNDITY: 9,000- 79,000EGGES IN FISHES OF
16.3TO 21.4 CM T.L
AGE AND HARVEST : THE FISH REACHES ABOUT
20 – 25 CM RESPECTIVELY AT THE END OF THE FIRST
AND SECOND YEAR OF LIFE

6. UTILIZATION OF THE LANDINGS: THE
WHITE FISH IS CONSUME MOSTLY IN FRESH
CONDITION IN THE DOMESTIC MARKET HOWEVER
, A GOOD PORTION OF THE LANDINGS IS CALLED
AND DRIED

seaflower depth 10- 91 m this reef associated
species inhabits rockey substrte but can also be
found over soft sand mud substrate
