VS is a system where K-12 students learn via technology from a teacher
at a distance.
VS is an educational organization offering K-12 courses through
internet or web based method.
VS began in 1996 when internet went graphic and browser software
came into being.
The role of the teacher-student relationship is at the heart of VS
system.
In a VS system, teacher designs the context, initiates the activities,
establishes and facilitates communication & assessment.
Virtual Schooling
Blended learning is a
combination of online and
face to face instructions, that
is, combination of two
separate models of teaching
and learning, the face to face
learning system and distribute
learning system.
As new technologies grew
and expanded , it enabled a
wider scope for distributed
communication and
interaction.
Thus, a teacher can adopt
blended learning methods in
his/her pedagogy.

  • 5. “Learner & process of learning is main focus of online learning.. It is not depending on time, zone, location, distance. It allows real time teacher- student interaction creating a learning community Student access resources on internet, prepare group assignments. Curriculum and instructions are designed based on prior set learning goals Teacher/Instruct or designs activities to contextualize learning in learners life. Online learning uses distance technologies to deliver. 5 Online Learning
  • 7. 7 VS is a system where K-12 students learn via technology from a teacher at a distance. VS is an educational organization offering K-12 courses through internet or web based method. VS began in 1996 when internet went graphic and browser software came into being. The role of the teacher-student relationship is at the heart of VS system. In a VS system, teacher designs the context, initiates the activities, establishes and facilitates communication & assessment. Virtual Schooling

Blended learning is a combination of online and face to face instructions, that is, combination of two separate models of teaching and learning, the face to face learning system and distribute learning system. As new technologies grew and expanded , it enabled a wider scope for distributed communication and interaction. Thus, a teacher can adopt blended learning methods in his/her pedagogy.   • 9. Virtual Schooling vs Blended Learning Virtual Schooling It is a system ,conducted through web based method. Various distance technologies are used for VS. VS provides students an ability to work at one’s own pace , manage time and opt variety of courses. VS allows slow learners to move in their own pace with the content. VS allows collaborative learning , peer learning and interaction on the virtual platform. VS has lesser scope for face to face interaction with teacher of friends. Blended learning allows a combination of face to face and online learning. BL can use a variety of distance technologies. A teacher can apply blended learning method in his/her pedagogy at any point of time in any given context. BL also allows students to work at own pace and both teacher and students can manage time accordingly. BL allows human interaction with both teachers and friends. BL allows collaborative and peer learning in both modes. 9
  • 10. Advantages 11 Disadvantages 1. Active engagement of both learners and teachers 2. Multiple communication methods can be utilised to suit different needs of learners. 3. Scope for improved connectedness. 1. Rigid schedule: a specific ime has to be scheduled for synchronous learning. 2.Technical difficulty might lead to loss in real time lessons. 3. High speed internet connection required. 4. Requires teachers to be tech savvy and learner has to have minimal technical skills.
  • 11. Asynchronous Learning 12 Asynchronous learning can be defined as learning in which interaction between teacher and student occurs intermittently with a time delay.
  • 12. Advantages 13 Disadvantages 1. Convenience of time 2. Self paced 3. Flexible 4.Allows structured and systematic presentation of resources 1. Learner might feel less connected 2.Delayed access to teachers as immediste feedback is not possible. 3. Multiple technology proficiency required

Teacher may want the student to show problem solving approach using whiteboarD Can be used for brain storming activities. Concept notes can be collaboratively discussed.
