2. Introduction
Formerly a middle grades math and science teacher,
Suzana Ustabecir currently works as an instructional
effectiveness specialist for Chicago Public Schools. As
an educator, Suzana Ustabecir also supports the efforts
of New Leaders, formerly New Leaders for New Schools.
New Leaders strives to ensure that all students reach a
high level of academic achievement, with a special focus
on students from low-income families and students of
color. The organization reaches this goal by advancing
practices and policies to harbor success, while also
developing leaders in the school system. As a nonprofit
organization, New Leaders relies heavily on donations
from the public.
3. New Leaders
The organization’s website provides a donation page with
a number of options. First, you can choose to either
donate to New Leaders’ national program, or you can
support a local operation. Once you have made that
decision, you can choose from a pre-determined
donation amount, or enter your own before deciding
whether it will be a one-time or reoccurring donation.
Hopeful donors can also donate via check, phone, wire
transfer, or the electronic transfer of stock. For those who
wish to remain anonymous, New Leaders offers donors
that option.
