provides a number of important empowerment programs to the

● The Swarna Chalasani Scholarship Fund, which was
established in honor of the victims of the September
11th attacks, allows Sakhi to provide grants for
education to survivors of violence and domestic
abuse.
● Since 2002, the fund has helped countless women to
achieve their academic goals in vocational
undergraduate and graduate programs.

survivors of violence, Sakhi also offers an Economic
Empowerment Program that helps women to
achieve self-sufficiency through workshops and

● Rao Chalasani is a New Jersey resident who has
worked with Sakhi to establish the scholarship fund
in honor of his late sister, Swarna.
● He is a technology executive who has worked with a
number of financial institutions, most notably the
Bank of America.
● At BofA, he served as the Chief Technology Officer
and Director of Risk Strategy.
