Director of Nursing for the only Medical Prison in the state of Tennessee for Women
Responsible for every aspect of the nursing staff at the only female intake facility in the state of Tennessee; including directing the provision of
care by professional and para-professional nursing staff, coordinating care and interacting between health care professionals, correctional and
administrative staff in order to meet contractual obligations. Responsible for: daily sick call, emergencies, pharmacy, outside referrals, the sole
female inmate infirmary in the state of Tennessee, inmate grievances, infectious disease control, staffing, continued nursing education, training
employees (both medical and correctional) regarding medical issues pertinent to the correctional setting, chronic care plans and the
implementation of such, special needs of pregnant inmates, assistant to the Health Services Administrator.
Accomplishment: Successfully created a team able to raise the standard of medical care within the prison to such a degree that the medical
unit missed 1 point upon inspection. The unit had missed 23 points prior to my hire.
