2. ABSTRACT
Any construction project to begin with starts with the Layout of the building or
structure followed by Design and Analysis of the structure which is succeeded by cost
estimation and planning for the said project. This project involves the layout, design, analysis,
planning and cost estimation of a G+4 residential building.
In order to design them, it is important to obtain the plan of particular building. The
components of the building is designed using IS 456-2000. Thereafter, Calculation and Analysis
of load process are continued. The drawings are prepared using AutoCAD software, structural
design and analysis is done by STAAD Pro. The dimensions of the room satisfies the
requirements of National Building Code (NBC).
3. An apartment building is a self contained housing unit that occupies only a park of called an apartment building,
apartment house block of flat, tower block, high rise or occasionally mansion block especially if it consist of many apartment
for rent.
Due to the migration of people from village to cities the price of land is raised considerably. Due to this reason the
apartment building are constructed.
SALIENT FEATURES OF BUILDING
SLAB
Reinforced concrete slab constitute the most common type of structure element used to cover floor and roof of
building. Two way slab are supported on both sides and load transmitted to two direction. Slab is a typical example of two
way slab with main reinforcement in span direction.
Reinforced concrete slabs are supported on all four sides with ratio of longer to shorter side not exceed 2 are referred
as two way slab. In this type the load are transferred in both direction and reinforcement provided in mutually both the
perpendicular direction.
INTRODUCTION
4. BEAM
Horizontal member spanning between two are more support, carry a vertical load transverse to its
longitudinal axis.
The horizontal member used to transfer the load from slab to beam.
COLUMN
The vertical used to transfer the load to the foundation.
FOOTING
Footings are structural element components used to support column and transfer the load to the underlying
oil.
STAIR CASE
Staircases are generally provided connecting two successive floors of a building and in small they are
only by access between the floors. The staircase comprises of flight of steps generally with one are more
intermediate landing provided between the floor level.
The structural element of staircase consist of
Tread: the horizontal portion of step
Rise: the vertical portion of step

17. CONCLUSION
• The analysis and design of the entire structure has been completed using STAAD
pro.
• The results include the various forces acting on various members as well various
schedules for various members.
• Also using the software we got the concrete take-off as well as the weight of the
various reinforcement bars thus easing the load of cost estimation.
• The foundation has been designed as an isolated footing using soil condition as
medium.
• The foundation design values were calculated using STAAD Foundation.
