This is because there are some diseases which are infectious and spread when a
person comes in contact with sick person.
Communicable diseases or infectious diseases are those diseases that can be
transmitted from one individual to another or from animals to humans.
Communicable diseases are caused by microorganisms and are spread through air
,water, food and insect.

• Deficiency Diseases- Diseases caused due to lack of nutrients over a
long period are called deficiency diseases.
• Examples-
• Deficiency of vitamins and minerals may cause diseases like color
blindness, scurvy(lack of vitamin C) Rickets (lack of vitamin D), and
anemia (iron-deficiency). etc
• Deficiency of proteins may cause kwashiorkor, marasmus
