Close protection officer for the British Embassy in Mogadishu. Tasks include providing protection for senior
diplomatic officials in and around Somalia. Carrying out counter espionage, reconnaissance and route
clearance activities. Conducting risk assessments and putting in place contingencies prior to deployment.
Strong working relationships with Embassy staff, other security operators and Somali counterparts.
09 June 2013-18 August 2014, Close Protection Officer, British Embassy Tripoli
Close protection officer for the British Embassy in Tripoli. Tasks as above. Additional duties included work
as a security detail for the Ministry of Defence disposing munitions and arms, supporting enforcement of
renewed Border Force. Attended meetings with United Nations and EU authorities related to the security of
humanitarian aid delivery.
05 Sept 2012 - 09 May 2013, Maritime Security Team Leader, Sea Marshals
Maritime Security Team Leader on 13 transits, with over 5 months at sea. Duties included acting as Liaison
Officer between the ship’s crew and the Master/Captain, providing security advice to the crew and watcher.
Responsible for providing safety and team briefs. Responsible for checking kit, ammunition and weapon
state to ensure standards were met. Responsible for the ships anti-piracy drills. Drafted and submitted reports
pre and post embarkation and daily security and weapons discharge reports.
25 June 2011 – 9 June 2012, Site Security Manager, TSIGP in Kandahar
Site Security Manager at a Forward Operating Base for the US Military. In charge of camp static security,
managing a team of Local Nationals. Duties also included my team on how to use weapons; drafting and
submitting daily, weekly and monthly reports; drafting security plans; running monthly audits; drafting
communication plans; liaising with the US Military and paying LN salaries on a monthly basis. Responsible
for all equipment on base and site security at all times.
27 December 2010 - 25 June 2011, Close Protection Officer, British Embassy Kabul
Close Protection Officer for the British Embassy in Kabul. Duties included escorting/driving clients in a B6
armored vehicle, reconnaissance of locations, drafting risk/threat assessments and designing route plans.

Operational Tours
Afghanistan - South Helmand, Sangin District (09/10)
• Based in Sangin to re-stabilize local government and provide security, reassurance
and normality for the local population to enable them to go about their daily activities.
• As a Sniper Commander I supported teams on the ground by providing over watch.
This involved monitoring specific targets and providing live intelligence feeds to
mitigate any potential threats
2. • As a Section Commander I was responsible for leading patrols of up to 25 people.
This included briefing and de-briefing, delegating team roles and taking any
mitigating measures to ensure the full safety of the team.
Iraq (06/07)
• Team Commander patrolling, protecting and guarding a logistics base in Shaiba.
Duties included leading a team as a Vehicle Commander in Baghdad and escorting and
collect VIP’s from Baghdad airport to their desired destinations.
Northern Ireland (05)
• Based in South Armagh. Duties included observation of key points, tracking vehicles
and patrolling the local area.
• Established security procedures with local security agencies in either maintaining the
peace or ensuring the safety of prominent officials on events.
Iraq (03/04)
• Involved in gathering information on Observation Posts. Obtaining intelligence on
insurgency and local population including patrols by keeping the peace within ethnic
sects.
• Provided advice for operations planning and patrol routes to senior officers relating to
future tasking.

Skills and Experience

train any new successful recruits who join the Sniper Platoon and ensure high levels of
skills and fitness are maintained.
Hobbies and Interests
Crossfit, running, circuit training. Hobbies also include boxing, football and playing
rugby (whether participating in army sports or joining local teams).
