Carbon black is quasi graphite form of elementary
carbon, produced by Thermal cracking of high
aromatic Hydrocarbon oil.

5. Need of dust collection:-
After dryer unit the Semifinished good conveyed to
storage silos by mean of various equipment i.e.,
Bucket elevator and screw conveyor due attrition
effect as it comes in physical contact with equipment
some portion of the pelleted carbon breaks and
generate fines/dust which is not preferred by
customer because of handling issue.

7. Dust Collection
system
This is also known of Dedusting system or Fines
separation system.
This system capture the fines generated by various
process such as Bucket elevator , screw conveyor,
packing machine and then this dust conveyed to
respective bag collectors.
System use a negative pressure/vacuum to collect
dust from various process.
10. Major components
Typical dust collection system consist of four major
component.
1. Suction line:- Suction line are pickup points
provided at dust sources to capture mixture of air
and dust.
2. Duct line :- it required to transport the capture
air+dust to a collector
3. Fan :- Fan use to create negative pressure at
pickups and provide necessary suction
4. Collector or cleaning device:- Collector removes
dust from air by filtration or separation process.

Carbon black formed in smoke form in reactor which separated from gases in bag filter unit after heat recovery equipment's and then conveyed to intermediate storage tank Surge bin by mean of pneumatic conveying.
Here powder form of carbon convert to pelleted form by mean of pelletizer unit with help of water and molasses, then dried in dryer and conveyed to storage silos by bucket elevator and screw conveyor, where it packed in bulk bag and paper bag by respective packing machine.
Working principle:- large particle separates due to Gravity
Advantage :- simple construction, Low investment cost , little maintenance, less energy use
Disadvantages :- Low dust collection efficiency, Low separation efficiency. 10% for 30 µm..
Working principle:- separate particulates by centrifugal forces.
Advantage :- cost effective, low maintenance, handle high temperature
Disadvantages :- High pressure loss, , Low efficiency for fine particulate
